So easy to apply and great results!!
I opted to get this product vs the spray. I’ve tried the spray in the past and wasn’t very pleased. You just put a good amount on and take the end of a paint brush and dab it around. I used 3 coats and the pictures above were my 3rd coat and not quite dry. Will have to paint to match my ceiling of 30 yrs. Great product, easy to use and good price. I am very pleased with the way it turned out! Will definitely use this product again!

3 to 4 stars
For me, personally, I wake to put 3 stars because of the final goal that did not work out. That being said, this is perfect for people with like a 2-3 inch patch area. For larger areas, i tried multiple approaches and none of them resulted in it blending into the rest of the popcorn ceiling. I think they need the popcorn to be a little smaller so that when you add paint on top then it's the size that they currently are (they're too big after adding paint). The idea is great though and the product is easy to work with.

Very Good Stuff!
I was a little afraid to use this stuff after reading the negative reviews, but it was cheap, and after reading reviews for similar products and watching a guy on YouTube using this one, I decided to give it a try. Although the instructions said to use a brush or drywall knife to apply it, I used a 4-inch paint roller with 1/2-inch nap instead because that's what the YouTube guy used. In remodeling my bathroom (a DYI project), I switched out the old bathroom fan with a smaller new one, which required filling in gaps with sheetrock scraps and all-purpose compound. My attached photos show the area (1) just after I finished patching it with the popcorn material, and (2) after it dried and I'd finished installing the fan. Number (1) was taken while the new material was still wet. I was really afraid it would be off-color after drying, but its color ended up matching pretty well once dry. (It took a full 36 hours to dry completely.) The ridges you see around the light are MY FAULT. I didn't completely sand down the ridges in the underlying all-purpose compound I'd used to repair the sheetrock, thinking the popcorn material would disguise them better. But as you can see in number (2), aside from the ridges, the popcorn material itself melds pretty well with the surrounding material. It's not perfect, but it's not bad. Someone with skills and experience could have made it much better. I did not paint the ceiling. What you see is just the Homax material itself. Best of luck with your project!

Hard to apply. Not as thick as I expected. Usable for the repairs I made

10% as many ‘popcorns’ as there should be
Mixed it up nice, consistency a little thin for something that has to be applied to a ceiling, but no problem there. The paste dries away to nothing which is good. The problem is after I fixed a 3” x 3” area and the paste dried away, there were maybe 2 ‘popcorns’ per square inch. There should be 10x that much. If would take this entire container and 20 coats to properly fix a 2x2” area. Unless they fix the issue with their mix I recommend you don’t waste your time with this. The mix I got would be impossible for even a pro to make look good. I would have added a picture but it wouldn’t be fair because I also sprayed wall texture up there before I painted it in an attempt to somewhat make the area blend in.

Worked Perfect for Small Repairs!
Had a few nail pops & re-screwed off the areas that had the pops. I dabbed a little of this stuff on my finger and squished it into the holes, dabbed it around a little to match texture. Waited for it to dry & voila perfect color & texture match. I don't think it would have worked as good on a larger area (I think the more expensive canned stuff would be better for larger areas) but for very small touch up this was perfect!

I bought this in the hope it would help me repair a popcorn ceiling. There is no popcorn in this movie (or the product) as the product has no texture and appears to be massively overpriced cornice cement. Apparently a bot tells me I can't get a refund so hence the bad review.

Works great for small patches. Had to touch up the color on ceiling. Very easy to use. Just dab it on with a foam brush.

Fairly easy to use. Sticks well. I used a 1 inch brush and kind of rolled and dabbed it on. You can't paint or spread it on. A thick mat roller might work, depending on the area you need to cover. To make the "popcorn" size match my existing ceiling I had to add some vermiculite. It worked quite well, actually. Personally I think this product serves the purpose for which it was intended but it is grossly overpriced. A lot of reviews have sated that this stuff dries grey. I did not find that to be the case. The dry product matched perfectly with no additional painting needed. Maybe it may appear dull on super white ceilings, not sure.
