Incredably Well Designed and Built
Having used many ice climbing tools over the years, I can say this tool is built incredibly well. The head and hook are from cast ferrous metal, they are riveted to the handle very solidly, and the extruded aluminum shaft is well made. The coating is applied well and appears to be very durable. As a very famous 20th century rock climber and mountaineer stated, "we are homosapien, the tool users". No camper should be without this tool.

The Best Camping Hammer
This is such a great product that I now have purchased it multiple times to give to our kids for use in their camping tent setup system. Fairly light but high quality product that is priced at a great value.

Useful and effective for installing and removing tent stakes.
It's not as durable as any proper home improvement tool, but it's plenty durable for pounding in tent stakes. The hook does make it easy for yanking stakes back out of the ground. Were I a hiker or camper I suppose the light weight aluminum shaft would be beneficial. This thing is half the weight of the various home improvement / framing hammers I have at home. For me it was just a light weight tool to keep with my pop-up shade tent and stakes so I wouldn't need to worry about remembering or losing my real tools.

A must have in Florida
Got this hammer so that we can nail down our steaks for the canopy. I can't believe I waited so long to get one. Specially since we have so many rocks underground. Works great to nail and also to take out the steaks. It is light and very well made.

Good Item
Needed a good hammer for the camper. This item worked great. Was able to pick up a new stake canvas bag and keep them all in one spot. The hammer is very light weight and easy to swing. The hook on the other side makes it easy to pull the stakes up at the end. Will more than likely change out the lanyard for paracord.

Very handy
I have used this on rocky ground and was able to get the stakes in and pull back out again. The orange color has come in handy during on-coming storms when it was dark and the fly had to be staked down very quickly. It is light-weight and does not make a significant difference to pack weight.

Decent but extra ad not needed
So I thought this was going to be a very lightweight camping hammer. It is solid and sturdy but It turns out to be as heavy as a normal hammer. It does come with a strap and clip to make carrying easy and doesn't need to be stored inside a backpack if you are really roughing it and have limited space. However, can easily use rope to secure a regular hammer all the same. Also when you consider it weighs the same and slightly longer I'd say just throw a regular hammer you already have in your bag. $15 isn't cheap for something you already have and works just as well and if not by a fiberglass lighter hammer at Lowes for $6. Another reality is the digging option on this hammer can also be duplicated with a regular hammer. Overall I have to say this product is a waste of money.
