There’s a very narrow space between my toilet bowl and the bathroom counter where I can only fit a teeny tiny trash can before. This trash can is great because it has a bigger capacity while still being narrow. Your average grocery bag can be used as the trash bag/liner, too. Also great that it has a lid so my dog can’t get into it. The trash can opens and closes with a push on the lid. The only downside I’ve experienced is that this latching mechanism sometimes catches on itself, so I have to sometimes push/click again to get it to open, but it’s not that big of a deal. Overall a great purchase. Would even look good as a trash can for a car or a desk, as it’s very minimalist and sleek.

Love this little trash can. It replaced my bathroom trashcan that had a foot pedal to open it. Even though the old one could be deemed more "sanitary", this one just looks nicer, is bigger, and since the entire top comes off, its so much easier to put in and change a plastic bag/liner. I like reusing old target bags for this purpose which is much easier with this design since the bag is completely hidden when the lid is closed.

This is my favorite trash can. This is the second time I ordered it. Very easy to open. Good quality materials. The latch and hinges broke after a long time of use, but I noticed the newest one I just bought came with replacement parts, so I think that's good that they're trying to make up for the wear that normal use has on it. It holds a grocery sack's worth of trash. It fits perfectly into a narrow space and is made of strong, thick plastic. Functions great.

This trash can is two pieces! A trash can inside, which hides using a store grocery bag as your collection bag- that is kind of nice! But, the plastic sleeve that goes over it and includes the pop-up lid does not click and stay connected. So, when you try and move the trash, the outside starts coming off. I have learned to move the trash can with my foot from the base. The top pops us easily and with a firm touch closes. You do have to touch near the center to open and close. Good deal for the money and it has kept my DOG OUT OF THE TRASH!!!

Had high hopes, but as others have said, this (small trashcan with auto lid) seems like something that should be simple to design, but apparently not. Here are the problems: 1. At first, seems great. But wait... 2. Battery life is abysmal. I tried many ropes of batteries, from premium to rechargeable. They do not last long enough to justify an automatic lid. It's hard for me to quantify because it's obviously based on use. But let's say with light use, probably less than one month. 3. Once battery is dead, you can't manually open the lid without feeling like you're "forcing" the hinge mechanism. 4. Battery compartment is not convenient to pull out and push in. 5. As others have mentioned, hard to find/fit bags or liners that don't stick out and kill the sleek look. 6. Materials, including/especially what seems to be the motor, are flimsy. I am a very busy person and only take the time to write reviews (certainly long ones) when I feel I've been shorted on price vs. quality. Keep looking. You've been warned. Give more credence to the critical reviews than the shining ones.

This is a nice product but the battery life is short. Replaced Duracell batteries at 3 weeks since I bought it. It is rather expected since it is being constantly used daily. Has performed well during this time. Wish they made an electric 110v plug in version. Updated Review - After installing new batteries, couple days later the sensor is inoperable. Does not open when senses movement. Cannot be due to battery issue. Lasted only a month.

Purchased the white with rose gold trim. Maybe cost SOYEE $2 on their end... This waste bin has an attitude and a mind of its own. This is not your grandma's trash can, oh no! Decked out in cheap plastic white with gold trim and a outdent to stab yourself, it brings a sense of high fashion (think "fast fashion" to waste management. This trash bin isn't just a place to toss your leftovers; it's a statement piece that screams "I've got taste...and trash!" Also, the inner bin is hidden underneath the cheaply made white plastic sheath that already comes with a few dents (lived in), see video. The motion sensor is a nice touch, when it works, turning trash disposal into a hands-free, contactless experience - perfect for those of us whose hands are perpetually full or just really can't stand the thought of touching a trash can lid. Three opening modes? I guess, the touchless (wave your hand), the rose gold touch, and remove the entire top which actually hides the excess garbage bag. Now, let's talk about the spirit that haunts this machine, shall we? You see, the Sooyee 40L has developed a curious habit of randomly opening and closing its lid. It's like it's winking at you, saying, "Hello, I'm here and ready to serve you... or just give you a bit of a startle, while you're in the other room watching TV." The ghost in the machine seems to have a flair for the dramatic, adding a bit of haunted house chic to your kitchen, office, or bathroom. And lastly, let's address the elephant in the room: the instructions. They are so small you might think you've suddenly developed the eyesight of an eagle to read them. But don't worry, a magnifying glass or a friendly neighborhood teenager will surely help you decipher the mysteries of the manual. If you want an automatic trash can that combines utility, fast fashion, unpredictability, to your trash disposal routine, remember, not all ghosts haunt you; some just want to help you manage your waste in style!

Ordered two of these and they are so flimsy one came already cracked. So frustrating.

Arrived with jammed button. Once able to turn on, lid would continue to open and close without anyone being near. Would not recommend.

Product arrived broken. We tried to fix ourselves rather than deal with replacements/refunds but it broke again and because the return policy was just one month after purchase, we couldn’t get a refund or replacement. Would be cautious buying this.
