The perfect travel backpack!
This backpack is the perfect size for air travel. I fly cross country several times a month for work and this bag is the perfect size to carry on. It holds everything I like to carry (iPad, headphones, a few snacks, jacket/change of clothes) without being too big/bulky or having too many zippers/pockets/straps/etc. Every feature on this bag is well thought out and designed for someonw who wants something functional without being too flashy. The pictures here on amazon do a great job of showing it’s features. The entire bottom is padded in addition to the laptop pocket having padding all around, that was a nice surprise. Right now there is nothing I would change about this bag. For reference I’m 5’8” and the 23L fits perfectly. 4 year update: I still use this bag very frequently. Since I wrote the review I now have a new job that requires even more frequent travel (at least 8 flights per month) and I use this bag every time. There is very little wear even after so much use. One side of the sternum strap came off and was lost at some point, but I never used it any way. I still think this bag is a perfect size and has just enough organization for the efficient traveler.

Favorite backpack i own
I own several other bags from Ortlieb, Patagonia, and Timbuk but this is overall my favorite. I'm a graduate student, so I need to haul moderate items from home to office/lab. This bag is perfect for a 13" laptop(can fit larger), 10" tablet, a few books and folders of papers...You could certainly fit more, but I don't like to fill my bags. If you're looking to haul lots of textbooks, I would look for a different bag. It has a range of different size pockets that are quick to access and they all serve their own purpose very well. I use the protective pocket for my sunglasses, and the other top pockets for keys, wallet, earbuds, pen case, etc. The handles are well placed and i frequently use them all. This bag is marketed as a travel bag, and it has a sleeve on the backside so you can attach to rolling luggage. This is a great feature! However, if you use this bag as your carry on it may be a little tall for under seat storage. This was my carry on in first class, and it just fit under the seat. If you can find this bag on sale around $100 (which i did), I would definitely pick it up. Anything above $120... i'm not sure it would be worth it.

Best work/travel backpack I have owned.
This backpack holds a lot of stuff. It's got a convenient side pocket when you need to access your laptop or organizer. It's perfect for business travel. Fits nicely under airplane seats. The material is very durable and high quality. The zipper failed on my ogio back so I decided to try something different and you can tell the difference in sturdiness of materials and zipper quality. Highly recommend this bag or other Thule bags.

Overall good backpack, with some minor issues.
Good backpack overall. After 3 years of use, two zipper pulls (plastic) have broken - replaced with cheap metal clip-ons, and some fraying of the fabric on the top of the backpack. Sturdy when packed heavy, compared to most other backpacks. Large main compartment and many storage compartments. Nice handle on the side to hold, and can be used with carry-on bars.

High quality very spacious with many little compartments to keep your stuff organized
I was looking for a flight bag to carry my headset, tablet, kindle and other bits and pieces for work. Was a little worried that maybe my headset would be to bulky for it. Mine is fairly flat but even something as bulky as a pair of David Clark’s would fit in the front pocket. High quality product as expected from a brand like Thule. In ballistic black nylon which matches my roll on for work too. Highly recommended for flight crew and as a commuting office briefcase.

Great bag!
I have used North Face bags for years. I wanted to change it up. I use this bag for work and this one looks much more professional. Also, the 23L bag seems more spacious than my 28L north face borealis bag and I have more room for my legs when i put it under the seat in front of me. The hard pouch for glasses is a great idea, and there's a hidden pocket underneath that.

Overall Disappointment with this bag compared to other Thule bags I own
I was excited about the thought of this bag. This is my fourth Thule bag and I love them all and I wanted to love this one too. I am using this bag now, really due to the cost and some of the pros I list below, but overall I regret this purchase. The fact that it has a zipped section at the top of the bag, that can be accessed if the bag is under the seat on an airplane or in the overhead bin, without pulling the bag out is an AWESOME idea. However, overall the bag design is a disappointment to me. The opening of the main compartment is strange and then because of the compartment at the top, the main compartment flap becomes top heavy. Also, there are three zippers on the side of the bag that can be obstructed by a water bottle, if you have one in the water bottle pouch. Some of the pros. - Love the top compartment for easy access to in-flight items such as gum, earbuds, etc. - Has a side handle to carry as a pseudo briefcase. - Has a back strap to hook bag onto your wheeled luggage handle - Crush Proof compartment is huge! (comparatively speaking with other Thule bags I have) Some of the Cons: - Zipper handles are plastic and feel like they will break in a short period of time - Main compartment access is not ergonomically designed - Not as many "smaller" compartments as other bags so it is hard to organize miscellaneous items (cords, meds, documents, etc). - Too many zippered compartments that can be obstructed by a water bottle - The quality does not seem as high as other Thule bags I have January 15, 2019 Update I wanted to follow up on this review and state that the more I use this bag the more I regret this purchase. For me, the cons I have listed above have outweighed the pros that I listed. I find getting to the main compartment too complicated and there is a lock of organization capabilities in this bag. I am still a Thule fan, but I have reverted back to my old original Crossover 32L.

I am purchased it in March 2022 and using it since as a office back. After 2 years it is reasonably well condition/ Recommended to any one for office back with 15inch laptop. Good one.
