Solid door and good size
I have a Boston Terrier (30lbs, about 11 or 12 inches tall) and this door is perfect. I had ordered a few other brands in the past and the ones they recommended for her size were always small, hard to install, and didn't have much sturdiness to them. This one is the best I've used by far and she actually trusts going in and out with no apprehension. Assembly isn't hard, but if you use "pet proof" screen on your door, then the clip on feature (to align before using the bolts) doesn't work well because the screen is made to not allow punctures. That was my only issue, but I simply aligned it, used a sharp pointed object to set the bolt hole, put in the bolts, then worked on gently sealing the gate onto the screen. Finished it up by tightening the bolts and it's been super sturdy since the install. The other item I like is that the bolts you use don't protrude out and snag on anything (other sliding door parts or people), which is nice. The clips to lock the door work fine for my dog as well so the door overall is pretty seamless to the existing slider. The only item I would consider a concern is the long term durability of the screen that is placed in the footprint cutout in the door. My dog doesn't scratch at it very hard and while she learned to use it there have been only light paw pushes on that middle area, but I can see it bulging a bit here and there. Will keep an eye on that over time as it doesn't look like it's ripping or anything, but I'd expect that to stay a bit more taut since it's the designated push location for the dog. Overall, great product so far and worth the money!

So helpful
I waited a bit to review until I could see how durable it was. The door was relatively easy to install and looks fine once it's in. I wasn't sure if my large 55lb, tall doodle would be able to fit through it ok, but she does just fine. It isn't large and doesn't feel overly heavy (since it's got to sit in your screen), but it has been very durable and she uses it often throughout the day. It was a good deal for how helpful it is not getting up to let her in and out constantly.

Good Pet Door
I purchased the door for large pets as my dog is about 80 pounds. The door is sturdy and works as it should. However, it is a bit small for my dog. Installation was easy and took about a half hour. It installs directly into the screen of your door so upgrade you screen material to a more sturdy pet friendly type, standard screen material will not hold up. A small tip for installation.... Install the door fully and than cut out the screen for the door so the pet door will help hold the screen in place. Overall, my dog and I are happy with it. He goes in and out at will and I don't have to get up in the wee hours of the night.

Game changer!
CONTEXT Our 1 year old pup decided that rather than wait for us to open the door for her, she would open it herself by pushing through the screen door! It was getting to a point where not matter how much we tried to fix the behavior, it wasn't happening and we were getting bugs in the house so we purchased this. PROS - It was so easy to install! We literally just changed our entire screen, placed this on, screwed the screws (LOL) and cut out the screen. Took all of 10 minutes, if not less. Installation was a breeze! - We didn't have to cut into the wall, or get a different and expensive sliding door adaptor thing. Besides the addition of the door, nothing in our home had to drastically change. - Teaching our pup to get through the door was super easy with treats. She got the hang of it within a day and uses it all. The. Time. CONS - Once it gets installed, you can't uninstall it - unless of course you re-do the entire screen. When we installed this, we put it a little low for our pup, so she has to bend down a bit to get through, which kind of sucks! Wish we would have put it a bit higher, but she seems fine getting through, so we left it. TIP: Make sure to measure or get someone to help you ensure the proper height for your pup. - The latches to lock this door are quite weak. They don't really do anything to lock the door if you have a dog that is determined to get in (or out)! OVERALL We love this purchase and would definitely purchase it again. Recommend this over the other doggy door options for sliding doors!

Your dog will love it
1st my dog is 55 lbs labapit I installed it 9in off the floor and he can just walk out without hardly ducking his head and can just step out just like he is walking. very well made and very strong feeling on my screen and does not weigh down the screen and it looks very cool. My screen is the 50 fpc/dog proof type screen. No problem putting the screws through the screen. plastic feels strong and fit is great. Bonus its big and people might think twice coming in your home at night and my moms mini schnauzer 10lb max can jump right through it, buy the bigger one mount it lower for small dogs yes it locks if you need it feels good and strong. now if the wind is blowing it will move some but not a problem as it will go back in place. Now FYI I installed it on the floor inside looking out (meaning I put the screws from the floor up and the nuts on the inside of the door. the outer bolt is pointing to my kitchen. Mistake as it hits the frame of the non sliding glass support. No big deal easy fix reverse it, but hope this helps others when installing it.

Follow the online video. A long table is needed to fasten each side as a mirror image of the other side. As some folks mentioned in their reviews the nuts are rather small. You will need a small wrench to tighten hand tight then it goes smoothly. 14 bolts and nuts to fasten both sides. Very well built. Looks great.

Use this doggie door with a quality pet screen Item works great, door swings nice and magnets shut. Only problem I can see is screen inside paw might rip, if it rips you need a new swinging door. Another thing is the tiny nuts!! Pain in the finger to install. BUT it is a good product after it’s assembled

My 95lbs dog can easily go in and out of the house. It was easy to install and it’s sturdy! We had bought a different one from another company last year that was way cheaper and it broke our entire screen door and came apart. This one is worth the extra money for the quality!
