I purchased this pair of HID bulbs to replace the original bulbs in my 2007 Toyota Prius. These replacement bulbs were an exact fit for the replacement, and provide an excellent quantity and quality of light. One of the bulbs in my Prius was beginning to flicker, which I learned was a sign of impending failure. Considering that my Prius has 98,000+ miles on it without a replacement to-date, I feel very lucky. I learned that the cost of having the bulbs replaced by Toyota could be $500 or more, I was determined to take on the exercise myself. Replacing these bulbs is not something that just anyone should take on... like all other things Prius-related, the amount of space to work in is extremely tight and the process is potentially difficult. However, after studying the tutorials for the process online through YouTube and PriusChat, I felt more than capable. The most effective means to replace the bulbs involves removing the headlamp assembly, which also involves loosening the bumper cover and grille. That sounds like a lot of effort, but now that I know how it's done, I could easily complete the process of removing, replacing the bulb, and reinstalling the headlamp assembly in about 15 minutes per headlamp. If you choose to attempt this, I SERIOUSLY recommend researching and learning about the process first. I chose the 8,000 CRI version of the bulbs to provide the whitest, brightest light, and I'm very happy with my choice even though the do have a blueish tint. The 6,000 CRI version is probably closer to actual daylight. The OEM bulbs are 4,100 CRI, which provides a more yellow, warm light that's just not as effective at lighting the roadway a night. I was completely amazed at how much better I could see after replacing these bulbs. I read a few reviews where people complained that the bulbs burned out shortly after installation. Like halogen bulbs, it is critical that you do not touch the glass portion of the bulb at any time... the oils from your skin will cause the bulb to burn out in short order. When the bulbs arrived, I was happy to see that they were enclosed in a clear plastic container and also had a protective foam sleeve covering the glass portion of the bulb to simplify handling prior to installation. By removing the headlamp assembly to replace the bulb, it was easy to make sure I didn't touch the bulb by mistake during installation. If you attempt installation without removing the headlamp assembly as some instructions state, I think you run a very high risk of damaging the bulb because of the extremely tight space in which you have to work. Time will tell how well these bulbs will endure, but for now I'm a very happy buyer and I've saved hundreds of dollars. I would definitely go this route again in the future if I had to do so.

The bulbs have great brightness. I tried before installing them to see the difference between my old Phillips expensive ones and these. Nice white and brightness. I am waiting to try the one that I have installed at night. My Toyota Prius 2008 has bad space to install them. So, I decided to install the driver side though it took for me awhile as those clips are different than the YouTube videos. I watched so many videos to install it. Finally, the bulbs are great but Prius cars have no space for replacement the headlight bulbs.

2007 Toyota Prius, replaced in April 2017 but wanted to make sure they lasted before reviewing them. Dealer wanted about $1000; Local shop wanted about $500; I paid a mechanic to come to my place and put these in for $35, so cost of about $70. Dealer and local shop said the bumper had to be removed but I found YouTube vids that showed it didn't. It didn't. The mechanic got one in crooked but that was fixed quickly. The connector came loose after a month on one. I pushed the two pieces back together. I like the blue color of the light as it makes it easier to see the road at night when there are yellowish street lights etc. One of these has drifted from the blue of the other one to a more pure white, but other than that these are working just fine. The original factory HID lights lasted 10 years but dimmed and began to click off while driving, required me to turn the lights off and back on. Typical death mode of HID lights. The arc gradually wears away the two wires until the arc has to jump too far to allow a stable arc. If they last two years and I replace them for under $100 each time, then they will cost less than the dealer or repair shop fix. UPDATE: February 2019 the driver's side headlight died suddenly. I had noticed over the past year that the light from this bulb had changed from the blueish of the right side one, to a more yellowish color. Then it just wouldn't turn on. The other is still blue and working. Encapsulated arc or high intensity discharge or HID bulbs are not a good idea it seems. Cheap but not long lasting, though the originals went 7 years, they were rather dim the whole time. Going to brighter seems to shorten the life. Marked down from 5 stars to 3. UPDATE: March 2019. So it might have been the bulb but the ballast is bad. Bulb dying could have caused it but whatever the reason, the bulb is dead and the ballast also. Switched the good one to the driver's side and it doesn't work there. I had a local repair shop test and the ballast is malfunctioning. So moved it back to 4 stars, but not 5 because I'm not sure who's problem it was and the light was getting yellow tinted compared to the other one.

im happy with that purchase. finnaly I can see normally at night. it fits like an oem part, but don't be fooled installation itself is really hard had to remove bumper it doesnt have to anything with light bulb itself but installation procces can be challenging.

The headlight makes a bright light with slightly bluish color. They work well and were installed without any problems.
