I first saw a YouTube creator make chicken harumaki with shiso and umeboshi and immediately wanted to try it myself. Green Japanese shiso can be difficult to find locally so I decided to grow my own. Many listings online were for the red/purple variety or for Korean perilla, which has a different flavor profile. This listing was the first that matched what I needed. I have not harvested the leaves yet but I can confirm the seeds germinate well. I sprinkled a small pinch into my indoor growing pods and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they sprouted. The seedlings look healthy and vigorous. I may have over seeded a bit but that is on me. I look forward to transferring them to a pot and finally tasting fresh shiso. Great option if you want to grow green shiso at home.

Very good germination and growth. Taste great as microgreens with scrambled eggs while thinning for mature plants. Will be nice for my sushi and sashimi garnish.
