I did not used to like the garden of Life formula very much but I think they have changed something because I tried it again and it tastes a lot better. I use an automatic stir to stir it and I prefer that it be mixed in with milk but haven't tried it with water

I like this for additional nutrition; but wish it wasn't as expensive. Also, it is currently not available, so I can't wait for it to be available again.

The chocolate taste very good, but without having an actual blender, which I don’t have it’s hard to get it to blend really well otherwise it’s great protein and I’m taking it for health reasons

This is the brand of protein supplement that we currently prefer in our home as it tastes great and has no aftertaste. This is my 4th time ordering as we reach for this protein supplement to make healthier shakes at night when we are craving something sweet that isn’t heavy on our stomachs in the evening. We like the chocolate flavor with cherries and a banana for our shakes.

This is everything you could want in a whey powder. It's certified organic from grass fed cows. Jersey cows no less, which are known for producing outstanding milk. I trust the advertisement that the cows are out on pasture at least 300 days a year. That's important, because 'grass-fed' as a marketing claim is not regulated by the USDA, so you have to dig deeper to find out. This whey is also a concentrate, which some people may not prefer, but it preserves all the natural nutritive compounds (in their natural ratios) which heavier processing to create isolates can destroy. The chocolate is certified fair trade, as well as raw (this is the difference between cocoa and cacao, which has additional health benefits over cocoa). And the product is even humane certified! There are also no added sugars, and the addition of bifido-lactis assists with digestion, which is a very thoughtful addition that makes this whey stand out. I disagree with reviews that identify erythritol with producing excessive gas and bloating. Although it's certainly possible one could be sensitive to erythritol, it's much more likely that gas and bloating came from introducing a new strain of probiotic into the gut. I think this would be especially true for someone who has a poor gut microbiome. Also, whey is known to cause gas and bloating itself, partly since it is so easily assimilated by the body. Hence the bifido-lactis. This product did make me gassy for several days, but then my body adapted and it doesn't cause me any issues.

The chocolate flavor is well balanced and not over the top. The product is sweet enough to mix with yogurt or into a smoothy. It goes particularly well will overnight oats or chia for breakfast. Consistency is best when blended with yogurt or frozen bananas, and not just water. It takes a little time to mix up completely. I like purchasing Garden of Life Whey protein as it is organic, which I consider important for all animal products.

The sweet taste is not accepted as an organic product. Even if they say that it is sugar free or stevia free I am sure that "Maltodextrin" is in a very high level. However, this products increases the blood sugar after you take it. Do not recommend it at all but try something else.
