chunky and better than expected!
Very impressed. This items was better made than I thought it would be for the price. Quality product. I needed 15ft run from the TV to an older THX processor/amps for surround. This was installed in conduit and was easy to run from the TV to where the amps are located. I definitely will say this cable was better than I thought from the photo, very chunky but still flexible, nice grips at the terminations. Seems to be transmitting signal fine. Will update if problems.

Seems to work just fine
I looked at all the negative reviews, and was a bit leery of this one, especially whether or not it would click into place in the socket. I need not have worried. On both ends, there was a satisfying click when I inserted the cable, and it required sufficient effort to remove the plug that it is very unlikely to fall out, as some people complained about.

Nice quality at a good price point.

Basic but good
No thrills here. Just a simple product that gets the job done. Toslink seems to be a dying breed but when you need it you need it. It's not worth paying anymore for this type of cable then what you see here.

Great product - and a great choice to upgrade over poor-quality 'included' cables
I have used a number of optical cables over the years, but this one is one of the best ones I have tried. First, I purchased the 10 foot length as the cables that come with most electronics are frustratingly short. The optical cable that this one is replacing was embarrasingly thin and low quality. This was a perfect length for me to hook up my new television to my soundbar. It feels robust and like a quality product when I have it in my hands. The transition from the cable itself to the optical connection feels very well done and I have no fear of it ripping or splitting. The cable itself is very flexible. The connections themselves sit very firmly in the components that they attach to, which I appreciate. I have no worries of them accidentally coming unhooked. The sound is great, the quality of construction and of the connection points themselves is excellent. For the price it is hard to imagine a better value for the money. I will buy this again when the need arises in the future. 5 stars. Highly recommend!

Awesome
Price and quantity are excellent. The only ones I could find locally were much more expensive.

Very impressive stuff
These cables are excellent. The connectors are well build and stay in place. The cable is a soft rubber that doesn't crimp. And obviously they work. With most digital cables, particularly digital audio cables, they either work or they don't. There isn't any in between. Quality is only really a concern with analog audio cables, such as RCA. But still, with optical cables you want something that will last and, most importantly, with connectors that will STAY IN PLACE. These meet those requirements. I have to say I am very impressed by Amazon's stuff overall and in particular all of the cables/wire I have purchased from them. I am kind the kind of guy who has an entire large bin full of cables and wire in my closet. Literally dozens and dozens of cables ranging from old school analog audio and video to modern day display port and HDMIs. They also range from one end of the spectrum to the other in terms of quality, some I have are total junk and have never been used, others are very high end and were very expensive. Amazon Basics cables are really very excellent for the money. I wouldn't put them in the highest tier of build quality but for digital cables they are more than good enough.

I upgraded our 15 year old TV to a new LG C3 when it started failing to turn on. Even though I got a great deal, 3K is more than I normally spend on a TV, so I've held off replacing the receiver that made up the centre of our Home Theater set-up. The challenge though, is that the old set-up had all sources running into the receiver, then out to the TV, so video from TV and the option of sound from the TV speakers or surround from the receiver, depending on what we felt like at the moment. But given the age of the receiver, it doesn't support HDMI 2.1. So, using this same set-up would mean pushing lower quality signals into the new 4K TV, and that would be silly. Most of the time, we just use TV speakers when watching TV or TV shows on streaming apps, but we would use the receiver surround sound when watching movies. This optical cable is giving us that back in a decent way until I upgrade to a HDMI 2.1 receiver. I've just used this to go from the LG C3 to the receiver, and set the TV output to optical when we want the receiver to do the sound. It's not taking full advantage of the source material as optical won't cover the newer codecs, but we at least get a decent 5.1 surround, which is better than the TV speakers. Quality wise, it seems solid, and the connectors fit snuggly in both the TV and the receiver. Sound is clear and the range is good. I can't complain, and the price is good enough to invest in this a short-term solution.

To use with my audio rack I needed a long optical cable. Was a little skeptical about the quality but it came to be really good for the price point!
