Much smaller dead zones, don't forget to run "thumbstick_cal"
Very easy to install other than a simple wire soldering job. I play a lot of racing games and bought this kit to specifically reduce the joystick dead zones.Noteworthy items encountered during the installation:- The solder pad where the wire from the thumbstick cap was soldered on had a protective plastic coating on it which had to be scrapped off (on the OEM steamdeck thumbsticks). (Steamdeck build ~Aug 2022?). Once that coating was carefully scrapped off, I was able to perform the soldering without any further issues.- After the GuliKit thumbsticks were installed, I calibrated them as per the instructions. Once I went into the steamdeck testing menu, I found that the thumbsticks were not consistently returning to the absolute zero postion. One had an issue 30% of the time, the other 5% of the time. This was very consistent unfortunately and I wasn't able to reduce my dead zone setting by very much because of this issue. I found another set of instructions online which also included a step to open desktop mode on the steamdeck and run in a console this command: "thumbstick_cal". After following the steps given while running that command, I returned back into deck mode and tested the thumbsticks. Now, no matter how many times I tried (250+ times per stick), both of the thumbsticks _always_ returned back to absolute zero. I was able to reduce the dead zone even lower than what is shown in my photo. This has made a nice difference in my precision driving games.

Works fine.
Bit of a pain to install, however these things work great.

Much better than stock
My Steam Deck has about a 4% dead zone on one stick, and drift from the factory. I ordered these on a whim. Easy to install if you're used to laptop work, with only a few screws and a single solder point each. They work flawlessly and feel stiff and springy. They have an effectively 0% dead zone if you follow the instructions correctly.

Great price and great instruction
Very easy to install, the only thing you may need to do is watch a video to calibrate them

good replacement, but so-so quality?
like everyone else, i thought these might be a good replacement for the stock pot based sticks. installed them pretty easily on my deck, the hardest part being the need to solder the single wire on.both sticks 'centered' up and right of true center. though the instructions tell you to calibrate the sticks, apparently valve has removed that from the OS. there is a command line utility that i tried, but it didn't seem to do anything.both sticks also 'jiggle' even when they aren't being touched. it's obvious in the testing function, i can watch the cursor vibrate back and forth. if i move the stick and let it snap back a few times it will stop, but if i move it again it will likely jiggle again.sadly, the worst thing is the left stick. the right stick moves smoothly and silently. but the left stick has some bad springs in it, they make loud creak sounds when moving the stick around and i can feel them tugging on the stick. i do not have any of this on the right stick. i hope that it goes away with use, else i might end up swapping that back for the original mechanism.so while these are supposed to be 'better' sticks to replace stock, not too sure it was worth the cost and effort involved. i'll know more in a few weeks/months. if your OEM sticks are working fine, i say keep them.

Fairly decent
I found this to be fairly easy to install. A simple, soldering iron so that you can replace the one wire that goes on for the click for the L3 and R3 buttons. However, the pair that I got had one small flaw. If I go to push it to the upper left on the left joy, con, you can feel a little bit of hesitation before it goes up. It wasn’t bad enough that I wanted to uninstall them and get them replaced, but it is something that I noticed because it’s on the directional side. Otherwise, they work as they should and I’m thankful for the loss in fear that I will get stick drift. So long as that one issue does not ruin these.
