Can this be used to get all my old computers working again or is this just for one?

It can be used on multiple computers. It first installs a USB based distro. If you like a distro you can then install it on the computer. Be careful to follow instructions because if you choose the wrong drive you could format the USB accidently and erase everything.

it depends on which distributions you are going to install. The minimum RAM for lightweight Linux such as peppermint 32bit, Linux lite 64bit is 768MB --1GB, but I do recommend 2GB RAM for better experience on internet surfing.

Will this install on an older laptop that has windows 7?

yes, it will do. if you are using a 32bit machine which normally bought before late 2007, you can install the 32bit one included. Otherwise, choose a mid-weight Linux such as Linux Mint, Zorin Linux， MX linux etc.

I looked the thumb over carefully, it appears not to be USB 2.
