Great for a lot of applications
I've purchased 3 of these now. I've been happy with all 3. In my opinion, this isn't a mount for a high end gun. It's a mount for a utility gun. True, there are no rubber pads to prevent scratches, but 99¢ at Hobby Lobby will get you enough EVA to cushion 50 of these mounts. It's a non-issue for me. This mount works and it works well. The ring will detach from the mount so you can use either piece in conjunction with other accessories. The ring has a standard picatinny base which is convenient if you need to move a light from one gun to another. Let's face it. Not everyone can afford half a dozen $100 tactical lights. Another plus is this mount will work on many guns other than 12 ga shotguns. Additionally, you could mount the upper portion of the base directly to a frame or wood stock. I can think of more than a few guns where this would be advantageous. Actually, you could bolt the upper mount ring to the fenders of your ATV, garden tractor or roll bar for some awesome lighting options. You are limited ONLY by your imagination. I have a 1" flashlight that throws more lumens than the high beams on one my vehicles...so...😁 As a journeyman machinest who has purchased 3 of these mounts over the last couple years, I can tell you it's a great deal for less than $5 and the quality of the 3 I have purchased has been SPOT ON! BTW, they arrived before the projected delivery date...about 2 weeks.

Great price, great product.
Got the job done! I ordered this to hold the hand guard cap on my AR and to mount a detachable front sight. The ring was a bonus as this was cheaper than buying the barrel mount by itself. Its sturdy and does what I intended for it to do, now I have a flashlight on the way for the ring that came with it. Both are well made and will be pit to use. I may order a couple more just to have just because of the value per dollar and I plan to build at least 1 more AR in the future.

So close, yet so far away
It is frustrating, how close this mount comes to fitting the tube of my Mossberg 500 Home Defense. If it were a few MM wider, it would work perfectly. I have the Breacher Barrel on the Mossy, and this mount will not fit the barrel either. I managed to reverse this mount and mount it on the tube, then I managed to secure my flashlight (http://www.amazon.com/Ultrafire-Wf-502b-Focus-Flashlight-Black/dp/B006X7LV0W/ref=cm_rdp_product) Ultrafire 502b to the end that was supposed to mount on the barrel. It functions fine, but it does preclude you from swapping other picatinny accessories onto the firearm (I can live with it). The quality of this product seems very good. It would be great if they could make this for attaching to the tube of the Mossberg or the thicker breacher barrel. If it fit the tube or barrel of my shotgun, I would give it a 5.

Great Mount for a Great Price
1. Let's begin by talking about shipping, it will take a while... It's coming from China and if you don't want it to take so long then don't expect to get it for $4. I didn't mind the wait, took about a month. 2. Size. As you can see from my picture, the gun mount doesn't fit an over-under 12 gauge... I wasn't really expecting it to. I just went to a hardware store and bought some Size 4m screws that we're looking longer than the ones it came with. That is in the "Metric" section... With that information I just saved you about an hour. The screws that came with it are quite short, I'd say you couldn't get away with anything bigger than a 20 GA barrel. It's definitely meant for a pistol or rifle. 3. Flashlight. As you can see from my picture, the mount is adjustable for different sized flashlights. It's probably worth noting that the hole is quite large even when fully tightened. I'd say you couldn't fit a MAG Light Mini in it without something to make the handle thicker. I personally am using an UltrFire WF-502b and it fits like it was made for it. You can look up the dimensions of that particular flashlight and see. I also put a kitchen knife in it just to impress the ladies. It works well for that and will come in handy when the China overlords turn on us (I'm Kidding...) nonetheless if you want a cheap bayonet then get a knife with a thick handle and you are set.

It's ok.
Got this and went to put it on my gun. The first thing I noted was there was no rubber or pading on the part that goes around the barrel. (Part with long screws) The next thing I noted was that it will not fit on the tube and that you had to mount it on the barrel. Now that I got that out of the way I am going to tell you how I got around all this. First I put the 1" flashlight part on the tube. It fit great and had rubber padding in it to keep from messing up your gun finish. Next I put some rubber grip tape on the flashlight where I mounted it in the adapter.(You can buy the grip tape at Walmart in the sporting goods department.) By doing this you keep the flashlight from moving and messing up the finish on your light. After doing it this way it all works great. For the money and a cheap way to mount a light on your shot gun it's worth the money spent. Just don't think your getting a great tactical setup. If all you want is away to put a light on your gun for around the house, then this will work great for you.

you can put this thing anywhere!!
I really like this because if you have a rail already you can just use the light clamp. OR if you have a 22 or shotgun or anything else you can also use the clamp on the barrel and put your light wherever you want it. I actually put mine on the cheap scope on my 22LR. Works great and my buddy even mounted his light back and to the side so the light laminates his front sight at night while we're hunting so he can target faster. It's a good cheap product that works well so far on my 22. Should be fine on bigger rifles too.
