Bright Well Made Emergency Light
Excellent emergency that illuminates my basement and basement stairs. Second of two, the first of which is seven years old (2014) and has worked flawlessly. It is very bright with repositionable light heads. Easy installation; very well made. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a reliable, well made, reasonably priced emergency light.

Works really well
Bought 1 for our business out in the country that keeps losing power. Worked great in the main office. Not super bright but then it is little LEDS and not an industrial version you would find in a corporate office. Gives the light I need so I am not stumbling around. Plan on buying 2 more for the back room. I like the fact that they state several hours as oppose to just 90 minutes like a few others I read about. Wont really know the extended duration since I just bought it but for the price and what I saw in its features, ie, one or two lights, low or high beam, can manually turn off; I think its a pretty good price. And I didn't notice any humming that someone else complained about.

It lasted 20 hours. Well designed.
It charged from zero to 100% in 4 hours. It lasted 20 hours on full light. Not 24 hours, but still very good. I didn't tested it on low light. The plastic feels a little fragile. Overall, it's a well designed product.

Count on this!
When you lose power, this is the thing to have. Comes on when the power goes off and lights the way. At 78 with limited vision (I only have one eye due to carotid problems) this is the perfect device in a darkened house

So good I am buying more.
We live in a rural area with frequent power outages. I bought this and placed it high on the wall in the living room by the front door. Sure enough, the power went out. Just one light was enough to illuminate the living room. The power outage lasted 3.5 hours, and so did the light with plenty to spare. The worst situation is being soaped up in the shower at night when the power goes out, (yes, it happened) so we have ordered one for the bathroom and for by the back door. It is a great automatic light to allow you to find the LED lanterns. You can unplug the cord from the light and take it off the wall and walk around with it if you want. Beats the panic of fumbling around in the dark for a flashlight.

Bought these back in 2020
I'm glad I bought two of these for our home. They are still working and going strong. We just had a small power outage here a moment ago and was astounded by how bright they are after all these years. These are a smart purchase to have for your home. Highly recommend.

Up to 40 hours of light during a power outage. Blows away the competition !!!
This is truly an amazing light for power outages and emergencies. I did a considerable amount of research prior to purchasing this light. This light is by far the longest lasting light available that I could find. 95% of lights that I've seen for emergencies last at best a couple of hours during a power outage. This light will last a full 40 hours with one light lit, or if you choose to have both lights lit it will last 20 hours. That is an incredible amount of time. My power does not go out very often, although there have been times when it has gone out up to 4 to 5 days. It is very reassuring to know that a light will last this long. There is a newer Ideal Security model available, it is said to be brighter, although the length of time it lasts during an outage is considerably less. This light is quite bright, more than sufficient enough to see around the areas in your dark house where you are walking. I would much prefer a light like this one that is not quite as bright, and will last up to 40 hours, versus a brighter light that will be dead in a couple of hours during a power outage. The longevity of this emergency blackout light is thanks to a much larger battery than competitors. Each of the two lights has six LED bulbs. I actually purchased two of these units and have them in different areas of my house. Highly recommended.

Power failure lights
emergency lights from Ideal. These last forever. During our last power failure i keep these light on low. They stayed on for 6 days with not diming.

These are nifty little lights! Made of plastic but still fairly good quality. The lights can be turned and angled and aimed to light different areas in any room, the lights are small but they still put out good emergency lighting. Great for stairways, mechanical/electical rooms, and living areas in your house. Compact and easy to install and the batteries can power the lights for extended power outages. I bought 4 of them and they are sure handy to have during power outages.

Bought 2 to replace aging emerg lights in our small apartment building. Super bright and the battery will keep these lit a very long time ( hours ) Easy to install too. Really can't go wrong with these. Fire inspector was ok with them as well. 2 years later, all is good. Ordered 3 more. In a power failure the lights will come on, very bright, for close to 20 hours. We just had a 12 hour blackout and they stayed lit brightly all the way through.

Price is a little high, but I like the 6V battery compared to other brands that have cordless phone battery packs. The only thing that I really don't like is that whatever mode you use on the switches, the lights are always on (low intensity) when it gets dark in evening until morning. they call it night light mode, but I have to turn the lights towards the floor in the hallway, otherwise it lights up my bedroom.

works as described. Good night light and comes on brighter during power outage Update: have had units for a couple of months now. 1 inside and 1 in an unheated garage. Both continue to work very well. The nightlight feature is bright enough to help find your way easily. And kicks in brighter without delay when power is lost. Worked well during an 8 hr power outage. Both units.

First lets get the CONS out of the way. The lights are listed as having 6 LED's in each (12 total) , but there are only 5 per head. Okay,... that's it. for the CONS. The light was well packaged, and while the battery was initially dead on delivery, after charging for a day, and testing it in a dark room, all I can say its the light output is far better than I expected. However I still will have to wait for a full charge (72 hours recommended) before I can comment on battery life per charge. The unit is plastic, but seems well made, the heads are easily positioned and have tightening adjustments if needed. A bit lacking as far as the instructions, but they are not that difficult to figure out. The night-light function seems to run the lights at a lower level than power-out mode, though not really sure if I will ever use the night-light feature. But it's easily disabled by a switch. The back of the unit offers several mounting options including direct mounting over a junction box, but not really sure how that would work as the power connector is on the side of the case , and might require some modification inside the unit. But it's just as usable sitting on a bookshelf as wall mounted The (72") power cord could be a bit longer though, especially as most people would mount this high in a room, and unless there is an outlet directly below the unit, you may have to use an extension cord or splice in a piece of wire to reach. However there is a wall wart transformer so the cable only carries low voltage, and splicing would be relatively safe, although polarity MUST be correct. And I do like that it uses the more standard 6volt lead acid battery that are easily available. Though hopefully the battery should last about 5 years without any problems. (others use proprietary lower voltage batteries, that will probably cost more to replace than the unit cost to buy) VERY HAPPY with this, and may buy another,. although not until the price drops back to the level it was when I bought it. (under $50)
