Does exactly what you need as a bass player. Plug directly in, put on your wired headphones, and hear exactly what your instrument sounds like. Or your pedal board, just plug this at the end of you chain. Avoid amp colouration! I put Bluetooth ear buds on (streaming tracks) with my over ear headphones (my bass) over the top.

Tldr: good product, works good, good price, you won't be sorry buying it. Before I knew about this little gem I was having to run my bass into my practice amp, then find a converter for 1/8" to 1/4" for my headphones so I could practice without disturbing anyone. This little dude does all of that in a smaller, more manageable package. Pros: compact, durable metal casing, clip on the back to have it at your belt, simple to use, and it sounds great coming through my headphones. UPDATE (4/7/2015): I have so far tested this headphone amp with distortion, overdrive, tremolo, and chorus pedals. All pedals used were lead guitar pedals, used with bass guitar. DISTORTION pedal: there is a high pitch squeal with the effect turned on. Not certain if that was a problem of that particular pedal (boss overdrive/distortion) because I heard the same squeal from a standard amp. OVERDRIVE pedal: minor buzzing/humming with effect on. TREMOLO pedal: no unwanted sound/effect (squealing, buzzing, humming, etc.) with pedal on. CHORUS pedal: same results as TREMOLO pedal. FUZZ pedal: To be determined. Con's: update: effects, while functioning, sound muted with volume at max. No change in star rating; amp fully functional as is. I'm just a casual bass player, so a lot of the mechanical lingo goes over my head, but I know a good sound when I hear it. Incidentally, hearing such a clean sound coming through caused me to actually learn what all of the knobs on my ibanez gio bass do. But yeah - clean sound, no distortion, which is good when you're just learning. (Like me.) Overall a great little amp.

Sounds great; I just wish there was an on/off switch. Power is controlled by plugging in headphones, so you need to be sure to unplug your headphones when done.

I needed a headphone amp for my bass guitar but after looking at all the plug in bass headphone amps available I was disappointed. The most common issues with them were poor battery life and cheap construction leading to them falling apart. They are also filled with gimmicks which have no value to me and are generally low quality. There are a couple of pedal type amps which would be better suited but they were out of my budget at the time so decided to try this. There is no low pass filtering or tone controls and the sound is very clear so all the squeaks from the strings are clearly audible but I use Zoom Multistomp pedal as a filter to reduce that problem. I also tried it on my ES339 which sounds superb through this amp which shows it is not really suitable for bass, on a passive electric guitar it has a warm smooth mellow tone which reminds me of a Fender type amp, really nice ! I cannot understand why there are 2 rubber buttons on one side though, they don't seem to have any practical purpose. Good quality solid construction, good battery life, very clear sound, no complaints really !
