John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano - 3rd Grade | Intermediate Piano Method Book | Essential Piano Technique and Interpretation | Sheet Music by Willis Music Review: You can’t go wrong… - Stick with John Thompson using these graded books for your piano students! Sure bet in exactly what each piano teacher should use!!! I’ve taught over 30 years of piano students, these books helped me greatly with the progress of my students !!! Very sound theories of tracing piano!! Review: Thrilled to Have This Book! - I began piano lessons when I was in 1st grade, and my teacher used “Teaching Little Fingers How to Play” as my very 1st music book. Once successful with that, she moved me on thru the John Thompson series. Books 1-5. I loved those books! They had a great range of all different kinds of songs and difficulty. And they had pictures. Of them all, the 3rd grade book was my all-time favorite. Unfortunately, I loaned it to someone years ago and have always wished I still had it. Then I discovered that I, too, could STILL have it because desertcart carried it! Happy as a lark, I am! I'm in my 70’s now, and it's so much fun to be able to play my favorite songs once again 60 years later!

88-year-old Mother is Ecstatic!
After years of not having a piano in her home, my 88-year-old mother has a beautiful electronic piano which fits in her tiny apartment. At first her fingers and eyesight were a frustration to her playing. Now, after a month of practice her fingers move more freely, and her eyes have adjusted to reading those tiny dots called notes. She ordered the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade versions of John Thompson's piano books. (She could only find the beginner versions in the local music store.) The first two arrived today and you should have heard her excitement. She said the books were even better than she had expected. I am very grateful these books were available to order on Amazon. I love having a happy Mama.

Fantastic collection
I am a piano teacher and a huge fan of the Thompson books. I learned out of them, and have all my students learn from them because they include so much really great classical music. I hate that the early books include finger numbers above every note, so I cross them out, but by the Second Grade and this 3rd Grade book, the included fingering notations are an important part of the editing. These pieces challenge the students, but also become some of their favorite pieces to play. They really require the students to play more expressively, including dynamics, phrasing, and other accents, etc. Great book!

A Great Self-Teaching Aid!
The addition of the cd for this book made it great for me to hear how the piece is suppose to sound before I play it. I was just beginning to start this book in the late sixties when I had to end lessons due to financial hardships. I am now picking up where I left off and the cd made it possible to self teach myself. Now that we're in the new times of using cd's for music teaching aids this book became a no-brainer. For some reason the third grade book is the only one offering a cd in the course. I want to encourage the publishers to make cd's for the rest of the series (grades four and five).

A great music book
I bought this one for my collection of piano teaching books. It is worth every penny. Was difficult to find where I live, but I gladly found it here.

Fun interactive book
My daughter enjoys learning with this book. They have advanced well known songs and is very fun for kids to play what they have heard before.
