Do I need any other ingredients other than this to make cells when pouring paint?

First, there any ways to make cells, clouds, lacing effects and silicone is just one way but not the only way. I don’t care for silicone cells so I get cells/effects other ways including with paint conditioner. Owatrol-brand paint conditioner is called Easy Flow in the US, Floetrol in the U.K. Flood-brand makes paint conditioner and sells it as Floetrol in stores like Home Depot in the US. Owatrol-brand’s version is similar but not identical as Flood’s. If you’re serious about pour painting, get both and experiment as they produce different effects. I’m definitely doing that after seeing the European artist’s results with Owatrol! Paint pouring is like baking without a recipe. It’s experimental science and art. Nearly impossible to get same results twice in a row. Talent, technique, supplies and ingredients all factor in.

Does this product contain dimethacone. I am hoping so.

Why would you have to strain Easy Flow?

Hello and thank you for your interest in our products. There is no definitive answer to this and it really depends on the product and what it’s like when you pour it out and what you will be using it for i.e. as paint additive or for acrylic pouring. When using it for acrylic pouring some people do like to strain it to be absolutely certain that they do not have any bits in the paint from dried product that may have stuck to the top of the bottle near the cap. The only time you may wish to strain it, when using it as a paint additive, is if you have previously used the Floetrol, so have plenty of air in the bottle causing any of the product that has not run back down the inside of the bottle to dry and stick to the inside, again near the cap.

Excellent Cust. Svc+grt product for straight pours

First of all, I want to commend this company for immediately sending me a second bottle when my order was delayed (by1 day) but tracking showed it had been delivered to me when it had not. Long story short, I had written the company about the "lost bottle of Owatrol," but as a 75 year old, forgot to let them know that it did actually show up the day after the UPS website showed it had already been delivered somewhere but not to me!. In terms of using Owatrol in acrylic pouring... it is thicker than the US Floetrol so it mixes up nicely for straight pours and keeps its shape as the paints drop onto the canvas. Additionally, I have found that when mixing my paints with Owatrol and stirring vigorously, this product does not seem to create any bubbles (tube paints and the thinner DecoArt jar paints). I have not mixed it with pigments so far, because their density seems to make them sink to the canvas and rarely or barely ever show, (when many colors are layered in a cup).

Pricey but worth it

I use this product in my fluid art! It’s far superior than the American version. The results using with acrylic paints is without parallel. However, being that is in higher demand than maybe ten years ago, I’m hoping to start finding it at a more affordable rate. It’s over $7.00 in shipping alone and I have prime. For now, I’m glad Amazon offers it at least.

Used in Pours and worked well...

I used the product in teaching a class with Acrylic Pours... It is an expensive activity with the cost of the paint and the floetrol, but the floetrol does work well. All the students were delighted with their results. I used a lot more than I thought and we went through 3 almost 4 orders of the product....

This UK based Floetral doesn't make cells in acrylic paint pours like I had hoped. My expectations were probably too high.

Is an awesome product, produces nice

Ordered this to use in acrylic pour paintings. Is an awesome product, produces nice, very round cells. But I don’t like the small size. The price for that volume is too high. It would be nice to have different sized containers available at a reduced price.
