Will bg 44k hurt my engine if i fill it with chevron gas that has techron already in it?

I routinely use gas from Shell (V Nitro) and Exxon premium. I even buy bottles of Techron in addition to what's already in the gas from the pump. They don't do much. Once I put in BG44k into the tank (and drive it for about one tank's worth of miles), I can feel the power in the engine come back. Feel, meaning, the car pushes you against the seat more when you floor it. Only BG44K does that.

Whats the difference between this and the fuel system cleaner?

Chris, I don't really have experience with other fuel system cleaners. I used BG44 on my engine builders recommendation. I was having problems with my racing engine building deposits on the valves and increasing leak-down percentage. With several cylinders showing 6 to 8 % leak down, I ran the next race with 1/2 can of BG-44 in 5 gallons of 110 octane rave gas. After the race, those cylinders were all below 2% leak down. Also the intake manifold runners were sparkling clean. I now repeat this process after 40 or so 1/4 mile runs and all cylinders are still between 2 and 3 % leak down.

Hi 44k is strong stuff and will clean and condition ALL parts of the fuel system. Filters included.

Is this necessary if i use top tier gasoline?

I use top tier fuels (always 93 octane), but I have read and studied American Society of Petroleum Engineers findings for years. With minor exceptions all cars from 1986 forward are electronically controlled by computerized fuel injection systems, and most recently direct injection systems that place the fuel delivery nozzles in close proximity to the combustion chambers. This creates a cleanliness hazard to the injectors. So, you can avoid a $150-$200 carbon depletion cure with 1 can of BG-44K every 5000 miles or less. Yes -- it is expensive, but if you look for sales and buy in bulk you can get it for half the retail price.

Medicine for the engine

I searched lots of petrol treatments to treat my engine and kept coming back to this one. I have recently used it in a Mini Cooper S 2014 which was suffering with a rough idle at cold and some hesitation on acceleration low down in the revs. I used a full can of the treatment in a full tank of fuel, put the contents of the can in your tank before you add fuel to mix it. I am half a tank through the treatment so far and have noticed a difference. Smoother idle on start up, tighter and quieter engine when idling and noticeable increase in acceleration. I am still working the treatment through my engine but so far I am very impressed indeed. This company also do oil treatments (flushes) etc so I may well go down that line as well to give my car some real TLC. I will buy the BG 44K again on my next second hand car as a matter of course I think.

Used this on my 2011 Audi A6 3.0T with 100,000km (62k miles). I knew something was up with the fuel injectors because I was having surges in acceleration after letting off the throttle at higher RPMs and was going through much more gas than usual (although I never got a check engine light). I assumed that I would have to do a carbon cleaning and change the injectors. Before spending the money on that I decided to try a fuel system cleaner and saw this one was highly recommended by Audi owners. I went to the gas station, poured this into my gas tank, and then filled the car with gas. Pretty much instantly my car has stopped surging and has restored gas mileage. To my surprise the throttle response feels much better and the idle has lost its shakiness. Very happy with the outcome of something so simple. Definitely recommend for anyone with an Audi that is getting up there in mileage.
