I’ll give it 5 stars. I really enjoyed using this cleansing balm. It melts makeup gently and removes everything very well without leaving my skin dry or tight. My skin is sensitive, and I appreciate that it feels soothing and comfortable while cleansing. It rinses off nicely, leaves the skin soft, and does not irritate my eyes. It made my evening routine much easier and pleasant.

A dream! Idk why but I was just using acne wash to remove makeup and clean and now that I’ve been using this it helps remove makeup completely so that my acne wash can get in there and do its thing. You definitely need warm water and a washcloth to remove. Great for my sensitive skin and eyes.

This is the first cleansing balm I've tried. I tried oil cleansers before but wrote them off because of breakouts. Turns out I was using it wrong. This is NOT a face wash, it's an oil makeup remover. If you fail to remove it all on acne prone skin, you 100% will break out. My first time using this, I could not rinse it off. Yes, it says "easy to rinse", but no, this is an oil and will not rinse off with just water. Oil & water- don't mix. After doing lots of research, here is what routine works for me: 1- Take a small scoop of the balm with your finger, emulsify it between your palms then apply to your face. 2- Wet your hands and continue working the product into your skin. This will make sure all makeup including mascara are lifted. * at this point, even after a couple of rinses, there will still be tons of this balm on your skin, smearing more the more water you add* 3- This part is the most important; in order to truly remove the balm/oil from your skin, you HAVE to use a cotton round, washcloth or makeup eraser. Gently swiping until the balm is gone. 4- After removing the balm with a washcloth, wash your face normally with your cleanser and voila! I have especially sensitive, rosacea, and acne prone skin, and when using the above steps, I have no breakouts or irritation. I wear a full face of makeup daily- moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, foundation, eyeliner, mascara- and this balm removes it all. The jar is tiny, but a little goes a long way, especially when you emulsify it in your hands before applying. I always gravitate to CeraVe because they are fragrance free and work great for those with sensitive skin.

The balm is nice. Not overly drying. Can’t wait to see how long it lasts. You only need about 1/8 tsp for your entire face and that’s awesome!

This cleanser is multi versatile. I am sure you can use it for what it claims to do, but it really is much more. It is so smooth, and moisturizing, one really doesn't need any other product. I use it as a night cleanse, whether I have worn makeup, or not, and then nothing additional. It leaves your skin so soft, it will be all you need. And this from someone with skin which is hyper sensitive, and suffers from eczema. Also, on days I have no need to go out of the house, this is my shortcut routine. I wash with this balm, rinse, and don't even need to moisturize! It does everything for me, plus you hardly have to use more than a dab of it, with water. I am very pleased I found out about this product in a beauty site email I received, and then took the chance to try it. Thanks, CeraVe!

It’s okay, it helps with some makeup removal and feels gentle on my skin. It just doesn’t compare to some of the pricier options, which I understand since this is cheaper. It really didn’t do anything for removing my mascara which is what I was hoping it would help with more! It isn’t oily and is a nice size container for the price, just not as thorough in removing all makeup!

I’m compelled to address the negative reviews because I almost didn’t buy this stuff after reading them last month. I decided to give it a try anyway, and I’m glad I did. I needed a new eye makeup remover, and I’ve been on a CeraVe kick lately. I realize the product description says you can use this on your whole face to wash off all your makeup, but I disagree. I don't think you should use this to remove foundation or any other makeup on your face. This is not a cleanser. This is a remover, and in my face routine, this balm is strictly for removing mascara. You don't need to use it if you don't wear mascara. If you do wear mascara, you need something "greasy" to cut through it and lift it off your lashes. I 'came of age' in the late 80s/early 90s, and back then, we used vaseline. You needed that grease to cut through the hard crusty mascara. Well, those days are gone. The non-comedogenic cleanser balm is obviously how we do it in the modern age, but it still has to have the same "greasy"-like texture of olden times to be effective. I will say, this one by CeraVe is actually nice and light feeling and not too greasy at all, just enough "greasy" to get the job done. You just rub a little bit on each set of eye lashes and it will lift the mascara right off, and once your lashes feel cleansed of the crustiness of the mascara, you then immediately follow up with a good water-based cleanser (or oil-based if you have dry/acne-prone skin) to wash the "greasy" balm off, and finish washing your face. (My go-to cleanser these days is CeraVe's Renewing SA Cleanser. I swear, I don't work for CeraVe LOL) I was using a similar eye makeup remover by Milk Makeup, which wasn't too bad, but I like this one by CeraVe better. This is actually less "greasy" feeling than the Milk product. Also, the one by Milk had a weird smell, and my eyes would feel foggy for about an hour after. I get none of that with the CeraVe balm. It washes away clean with no residue at all. Five full stars from me. I highly recommend it for your mascara-removing needs! And ONLY your mascara-removing needs!

Love this as it melts on your skin and does a good job

Gentle and hydrating whilst removing every trace of sunblock and makeup. I do follow-up with a wipe or hydrating cleanser to ensure it's all washed off properly. I also use cleansing oil, but the balm have the travel advantage and light to carry. No scent and competitively priced.
