KGear Security Lock Bracket Compatible with Apple MacBook Pro 14" & 16" (2021) (Bracket ONLY)

I have read the reviews before buying. I read all the one star reviews, and upon receiving my Kgear lock set I quickly realized these locks are legitimate. They fit fine. They were simple to install. If you know how to use a screwdriver and have played with legos before, then you have the competency to install. Literally takes five minutes. It's just plug and play. It DOES NOT affect screen rotation for the MacBook Pro 2018. The pieces were engineered with the tilt in mind and the way you check this is by pushing your screen to its maximum tilt, then using max tilt as reference while aligning the lock pieces before screwing it in place. Simple. Elegant. Minimal. I recommend. Pictures attached.

The pieces themselves are functional and fine. Fortunately I had my own lock. The screws that came with it didn't fit my computer (2019, 16" monitor) so I had to get separate screws. But otherwise works as advertised. I expected bare minimum functionality. and these definitely deliver bare minimum functionality.

Problem: the distance from screw hole to edge of computer is greater than the space allowed on adapter. To fix this, I filed down the metal until I had enough room. It works, but the whole thing wiggles, and I think a really good yank might separate the lock from my laptop, I will continue to search for a better solution. If you are wondering what I am talking about, read o : I Need to secure my notebook (I am currently in rehab). This machine does not have a security loop on the chassis attach to a cable and lock. It does have a slot into which a cable with lock will fit, but the problem is the laptop is so slim that you can’t turn the lock: there just isn’t enough room. This piece attaches to the computer via a screw and double sided tape, thereby providing a slot wide enough for the key to turn. Too bad it does not fit

This was easy to install and even comes with a small screw driver to assist. Once the red seal on the bottom of the feet were removed the feet sat on the machine just fine and the screws worked. I have a Macbook Pro 13-inch 2016 model and it works great with my kensington lock.

The adhesive tape is very difficult to remove. After several minutes of trying with my hands, I looked at a review that had a similar problem and used a screwdriver. It worked but now my adhesive is very torn up. the lock works fine but the numbers on the lock are a bit hard to read.

Bought this in Sept for a work computer. This computer has barely been used since, as it only gets used on jobs. I just noticed it was wobbly. I looked and already one of the rubber feet has fallen off. No sign of any sticky residue. Now the computer won’t sit flat. Kind of ridiculous. I would not buy this again. The lock itself works or I would have gone no stars.

easy installation and safe

At first glance, this product seems really easy to install. Just remove two screws on your mac and then replace them with the longer screws provided and remove the adhesive tape covers right?! WRONG! First off, the adhesive protective cover I had to pry off with the provided screwdriver which started to rip up the adhesive. Secondly, the screws provided weren't long enough to grab... it just kept spinning. While spinning it grabbed some of the nearby adhesive and it became stuck in the hole, making what should have been an easy project become a nightmare of me trying to pry the thing off my MacBook while it tried to bend the lower part of my macs cover... I failed to install the product and will be returning it. To clarify, if you do decide to purchase, consider removing some of the adhesive near the holes on the product to avoid this happening, and make sure the screws are long enough to bite in before removing the adhesive cover. (I was installing on a 15" 2019 MacBook Pro)

Mangelhafte Lieferung, scheint bereits benutzt gewesen zu sein. Folie bereits bei einer Klammer abgetrennt, zudem waren die Schrauben defekt.

Idea ottima... peccato che la qualità del prodotto sia bassissima... viti allegate che si spanano facilmente, qualità bassa dell’articolo, per non parlare del packaging... prezzo/qualità non ci siamo.

Es un quitamiedos ya que probablemente de un tirón fuerte salte del Mac. Quizás sea mas resistente en algún modelo en el que ancla a mas de 1 tornillo pero en el mac touch solo lleva un tornillo. Le añade un mínimo de inclinación al ordenado que a mi personalmente me gusta mucho. Eleva por atrás como medio centímetro. En definitiva es para mitigar la posibilidad de que se lleven mi pc en un descuido (levantarse al baño o algo similar) pero no para dejar el pc largo tiempo desatendido ya que puede resultar algo endeble.

I didnt want to spend the high price for lock adaptor purpose made for the mid 2015 15". I got this one hoping i could modify it for the mid 2015. I did get it working. I dont recommend it. The back case hole dimensions are indeed different. I had to grind away metal on the lock side to get it to fit and even then it wasnt perfect. I also had to get a set of screws for the 2016/17 macbook because the supplied screws wont work even if you grind them down to size (there isnt enough thread). All of this and I also had to replace the 3M VBH adhesive on them as well. In the end I got them installed and working on the mid 2015. You'd have to get the screws and the tape which adds 50% to the price. still its 40-50% cheaper than the purpose built. Also with this you get the lock on the corner where-as with the purpose-built its on the side. Overall the build quality is good enough for "deterent level" protection but whether installed on my 2015 or a proper model it would just take a torque twist to break them off. Good enough as a deterent vs no lock. So for the machine these are meant for they are great and also adaptable with some effort to the 2012-2015 models but you'll need to be good with mechanical stuff and have the ability to grind small aluminum parts down. I wouldnt recommend that I did but I would recommend for the machines they are made for.

Di facile installazione non occupa troppo spazio e confido nella sua robustezza in caso di malaugurato tentato furto :D
