Innova 3160g Pro OBD2 Scanner / Car Code Reader with Live data, ABS, SRS, Battery Reset, Service Light Reset, and Bluetooth

If you have an OBD2 car, you need one of these tools. It's easy to use and displays codes as well as live data. It also saves results of scans. It even has a lighted connector to make finding the plug under the dash very easy. I/M readiness monitors are displayed as soon as the tool communicates with the car's computer.

Great scan tool with many features I have still yet to use. Does exactly what it says it does and more. Haven't had one vehicle this tool couldn't handle. The screen is great and so are the features. I highly recommend this product for any automotive technician/mechanic. It makes diagnostics much easier and faster than some of the bulkier computers at the dealerships. of course it doesn't do everything that they can it comes pretty close. You can't find anything better for the price.

Works great, very satisfied altough a bit expensive, works with my 2006 Volkswagen tdi, with my 2003 Jeep wrangler and my 2011 santafe... Would recommand!

Scan tool as advertised and was delivered within the time frame estimated. Was able to diagnose a problem with a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). Easy to use. Being able to see live data is great for diagnosing fuel and ignition problems. It also is great for check engine lights, diagnosing the problem and deleting the check engine light. after the repair is complete. Well worth the money paid.

I just opened the item from the box. If you look closely the item has scratches on the screen and looks to be either used or refurbished. Overall, the item works very well, it is not intuitive to use and I did need some help from the support desk to get it started. The item had trouble communicating with my vehicle at first, but I was able to connect it properly after calling support. You’ll need to set up the year and vehicle with this device and then it will communicate properly. After speaking with support, this item is geared for Japanese and European Vehicles it does work with American cars, but may need update.

The scan tool itself is wonderful, bright, easy to read, very powerful piece of hand held equipment. The repair solutions software that works with it is the WORST I have seen since around 1996. After the initial failed downloads, I finally got it up and working. (required 3 attempts). All appeared to be ok, set language as English. After the 4th attempt, the software finally read the data from the scan tool and initiated a report. Fine, I make some repairs, scan again; now the "app" refuses to upload the information from the scanner, then it says the site can't be reached, and now the language has shifted to either spanish or italian, not quite sure which. Can't find anywhere to change it back, and their system help is less than useless. Scanner is great, their software could be better written by a 16 year old. If I were actually paying for this service, I would be calling the attorney general, the CPSC, and anyone else I could think of. The software is a joke.

Great scantool for the DIYer. All the information you'll need for the vast majority of diagnoses for most major makes and models. Don't fool around with less capable scantools when for relatively little more money, you can get this one. Heads up: This tool DOES NOT cover OBD1 out of the box, but supposedly can be upgraded to include OBD1. I don't have any OBD1 vehicles, so I can't speak to how well that works. The tool also DOES NOT have the various OBD1 connectors. Finally, it does not come with any sort of case or pouch. Overall, however, this is an excellent item.

Code reader -> Fine Intuitiveness -> poor Integration with RS Android App -> OK Getting RS Android App "uploaded" diags -> worthless, doesn't work Web tools -> worthless (from what little I'm able to test since it won't fully upload diags. Had trouble from day 1. Tried to upgrade the 3160g from the start (kept failing on DB update), but being a new device they had troubles and support couldn't help. They said to wait for another update. Waited a year...finally update took. Still cannot get data from device to cloud. Have to manually write down reader codes (unless I'm lucky enough to have them retrieved with the Android app. OEM DTCs don't even register beyond the reader (i.e. they don't show up in the App, nor on the web upload (even if I can get the upload to eventually load. Support essentially said the same thing again...not working...wait for a newer version...yeah right!

Does everything I need including live data !...also works great on hybrid.

I bought this scanner as a replacement for my old Snap-On scanner. While the Innova 3160G will never be a replacement for any Snap-On scanner, it does a fairly good job, looks well made, and is generally 1/8th the price. It'll read codes from the engine, airbags, ABS system, but not auto transmission codes. This is a little inconvenient, but not a big surprise. It doesn't have bi-directional control (you can't command things on and off, for example, like deactivating fuel injectors, or ignition coils, or throttle body or sensor resets or recalibrations.) You'll need to spend a lot more money to have more control. It doesn't cover or communicate with every module in every car (and is randomly different across even big name companies and models) but generally it'll display most DTCs, and allow you to clear them. It will also show you misfires, but it doesn't appear to show them on a graph. The online "RepairSolutions" program seems like a total waste of time to me, but maybe I'm missing something. It also has Bluetooth, but I have yet to try it, and actually don't understand it's purpose on a scanner. Bluetooth is not a selling point for me, and I think everyone else will be indifferent to it. The color screen looks good, and the lighted DLC connector is a really nice touch. I bought this instead of the Launch scanners, because info on their products is patchy, and reviews are very mixed. You're told what you're getting with the Innova, and it looks like a good product. It can start you off in the right direction if your engine light is on. After using it a few times, it should pay for itself.

Arrived quickly, brand new unopened box. Put the batteries in, powered it up, plugged into my 2010 4Runner and it read the code for my SRS light. Did a little research on the code, did the work, cleared to code and all is well! Easy to use. Then I plugged it into my 2004 xc70, read the abs trouble, it told me which position and sure enough, the abs ring was cracked. Just have to replace that and that code will be cleared. So with these 2 code clears, this tool has pretty much paid for itself! I have one of those small Bluetooth plug in units, but it was unable to read either of those codes. My only complaint is there is no paper instructions of any sort in the package. No big deal, I will just print it from their site, if possible.
