The only stock you should have on a 10/22 Takedown
This is the perfect stock for the 10/22 takedown. The modular fit and finish is outstanding. The locking mechanism for upper and lower is very solid and intuitive. The ability to store 3 additional magazines in the stock is fantastic... If you get a 10/22 takedown for backpacking / hiking, you need this stock.

The best stock for your Takedown!
Super clever design that manages to make the already hilariously portable 10/22 Takedown even easier to pack away without sacrificing ergonomics, which are actually improved noticeably with the dual comb options (low for irons, high for optics). In keeping with the backpacking theme, there's also cleverly integrated storage for magazines, tools and/or accessories in the top and pistol grip of the stock.Installs in five minutes and accommodates both standard profile and bull barrels with a simple flip of a plug. This stock continues the tradition of high quality materials and manufacture that have made Magpul a staple among AR15 owners while coming in at a very reasonable price. The only things I would like to see as improvements would be to include QD sling mounts (there are recesses on both sides of the stock for them, but the cups and screws aren't included) and possibly the inclusion of M-LOK or MOE slots on the forend for accessory mounting. Given the stock's other virtues and the price, I can't really subtract a star, though.

Perfect upgrade to my 10/22 takedown!
Just what I was looking for! This is a game changer for my 10/22. Makes it much easier to carry when it’s out of the bag the rifle came with. Fits perfect! Looks great! I love the fact that you can carry three extra mags in the stock out of the way. Quality product that functions flawlessly. Looks to be very durable. Thanks for making these!

Stock required to maintain zero on 22 breakdown rifle.
If you own a Ruger 22 takedown then this stock is required. Why? Because it is the only way to accurately shoot the rifle.I have messed with my 22 takedown and lots of other people's and it is simply impossible to maintain a zero with the removable barrel - if you mount a sight on the picatinny rail. Over half of the rifles I've checked and tested the barrel is loose. Easy to test - just put the stock but on the ground and grab the front sight with one hand. With your second hand push and pull at the connection point of the breakdown. Is it loose? If the barrel is loose how can you expect to maintain a zero?I finally figured out a way to tighten the 22 takedown connection so there is almost no movement possible. Over-tighten the threaded sleeve and make connecting the barrel extremely difficult but twisting it on creates a super tight mount. But, after shooting tests I am still unable to maintain a repeatable zero. Good luck with these methods.... LOLSo the solution is the Magpul stock, because you can mount a small rail (X-22 Backpacker Optic Mount) under the front hand grip and on the barrel portion of the 22 breakdown. Once your sight attached to the barrel is zeroed you have a maintainable zero and accurate rifle. The other benefits of this breakdown stock are extra nice to have in addition to an accurate rifle. Other reviewers mention these benefits, so I will not repeat them. I added some Type 1 & 2 Quick Detach (QD) sockets to the two mounting points and added a QD sling to my rifle. All these additions add to the overall cost - which is a negative - but basing these capabilities on the foundation of an accurate rifle makes it worthwhile.PS: Based on some recommendations from experts out the range I'm using a red dot sight and it works great.

Great custom addition for 10/22 takedown
This is an outstanding addition to a 10/22 takedown rifle. Very simple to install; attaches via the two machine screws standard on the rifle. The foregrip is somewhat shorter than the stock 10/22 foregrip, but easy to get used to. One of the best features is the storage hatch in the butt of the stock that will hold three, 10-round mags. Comes with optional cheek riser for an optic, and a standard-height riser (these are the door of the storage hatch). Also a water-tight storage area in the hand grip for ammo or other. No barrel strap is needed on the foregrip (like the standard stock), and the barrel only makes contact with the stock at two small points. Very compact when collapsed and fits together securely for compact transport. I have this stock on two 10/22 takedowns - one with the older vertical-style case and one with the newer horizontal style case. Fits very well in both cases, much more compactly than with the standard stock. I have red dot sites on both and these still fit in the cases easily. The FDE color looks great with the stainless rifle and I have a grey stock on the black rifle. The grey color stock isn't my favorite as it has a lot of bluish-tint to it, but still looks good. Highly recommended.

Perfect stock.
This stock is a perfect fit for the takedown target edition. Found the perfect hard case as well. Lycus HC-5011. Definitely a good idea to get the red dot mount that attaches to the barrel from magpul as well accuracy wise.
