Fun!
I remember when they used to sell these at Radio Shack years ago. I had them all and somehow lost them through the years. Although these cost a lot more than what they did back then, I'm glad to have a copy again. These are fun little circuits to build!

Great book for circuits electronics aficionados should know.
Easy to read with clear diagrams and good descriptions of each circuit. Most all can be put together using a breadboard.

thin, but good for beginners
To be honest, a lot of the info in this book would've been much more useful before the internet, but I imagine the same is true for many such books now. Pretty much all the background information on the actual timer & op amp components and the basic "building block" circuits that go along with them can be found online now, but even these parts may still be useful to some as an offline reference. That said, there are still some projects in here that make it worth the purchase - especially for those who are new to electronics, as the circuits in this book are all pretty low in both parts-count and complexity. Many of the projects are of the "fun" sort, but will still teach you things which come in handy later in other things.

Best few bucks I have ever spent
I usually dislike textbooks but Forrest Mims deserves a spot on my book shelf. I think of him as the Bob Ross of electronics. His series of books are incredibly detailed but simple enough that you don't need a math degree to understand. He gives you enough information to get you going in a well compiled, easy to follow way. Combine Forrest Mims with The Art of Electronics and you can teach yourself a great deal about circuitry. I believe this volume should come later in the mini series but if you are buying out of order, it doesn't matter. This is a great way to get a few ideas for working circuits. I especially recommend this for teenagers or even kids interested in Electronics.

Timer, Op Amp, and Optoelectronic Circuits & projects
The engineers project type book, Timer, Op Amp, and Optoelectronic Circuits & projects is a selection of circuits you can build or expierment with if you like or are learning electronics. It is very similar to Radio Shack Notebook series booklets offered in years ( 70's) past, for the study and experimentation with electronics. This book is nore booksize and has a lot of pages packed with diagramed circuits of the previously mentioned components. Get one if you are into project electronics and would like some ideas to build on in the future. Worth the price if you can still get a copy, do so.

A handbook for the electronics amateur
Not much theory but practical circuits for the amateur.

This is a real gem of a book and the seller langton_info_england sold me a brand new copy though they described it as used. The details are little above my head at the moment as I am still learning electronics but this was recommended as an excellent book for building basic audio circuits; pulse generator, gated oscillator, percussion synthesizer, audio amplifier etc The book is printed in a notebook style with hand drawn circuit diagrams and accompanying handwritten notes, it sounds like an odd idea, but when you see it, its practical because it is very concise (hence not a beginner book as such) and it gives the book a lot of charm, as if you had stumbled across a lost treasure. Regardless despite the age of the book, it has valuable insights regarding these kinds of projects that advanced-beginner to intermediates will value.

Great book, as any other Forrest's book. Clear, concise and accurate description of the circuits as well as the theory behind.
