Healthier salt!
I was surprised when I found that this salt had that moist feeling like Celtic sea salt. I didnt realize the reason till I searched it out. The result made me realize that I had bought a very worthy product! All the trace minerals and nutrients that salt should have are there! I loved that this salt maintained a great taste and I did not have to use as much as other salts. Im totally impressed. I will refer to friends and will buy again!

Great value!
This is my go-to for creating delicious kahlua pork. I spread it over a nice pork butt, smoke it over mesquite and cherry wood in my stovetop smoker, then transfer it to a crackpot on low for about 5 hours. Absolutely perfect!

I'm a bit of a salt-psycho and I've never seen red alaea this clean and uniform and deep red. Perfect if you want a large crystal salt with a big crunch without that explosion of sea-water taste- this is a relatively mild salt. obviously not 'natural' alaea salt but the characteristic taste is strong, full bodied and not overpowering. mix with green jade salt for a festive holiday blend your whole family will enjoy or use colored salts to mark family snack foods like pretzels and popcorn so they don't get mixed up. This bag is also quite large for the price, I won't need to reorder for years. for the price I may never buy hand-harvested natural alaea again. standard salt warning- Do not use ONLY this type of salt. You need iodine and the best way to get it is iodized salt. for the same reasons you should only use pink salt as a garnish and not as your main-stay salt as it is not iodized either.

Very Red
The taste is stronger than the lighter colored alaea. Use sparingly because the flavor is exquisitely significant! Love it! Used with lomi lomi salmon (A+++ =the red pops the color of the salmon), kaula pork (A++++) use less than with lighter alaea, great with Kiawe liquid smoke!!! Or mixed with kiawe smoked sea salt. Even with Kiawe smoked alaea! Beautiful accent (color and flavor) on sushi, sashimi and what the hell!!!! Margaritas! Try alternating red & green colored rim salt. (Insert Margarita glass emoji here) it's a great value! Timely delivery! No ka oi!
