Our hand-held Dyson gets a lot of use cleaning up the laundry room - especially any cat liter that escapes the box. A few days ago, it took a little tumble from the shelf it calls home, and the result was a broken plastic piece that was too small and fragmented to glue back together. Naturally it was the piece that held the door closed, rendering the device unusable. I was happy to see I could get a replacement cover for about twelve dollars. Removing the old lid was easy - just kind of twist and pull it off. The new one was a little trickier to put on: you need to put one tab in, press fairly hard, then wiggle the other side into place. It snapped in, and I opened and closed it a dozen times to make sure everything was working. Overall, very pleased, highly recommend!

Works perfectly. The Dyson vacuum door latch broke off when dropped. The part was a perfect replacement. It takes a little finesse to release and reinstall the door at the hing. There weren't any installation instructions with the parts. It tried to pry with a small flat screwdriver and that did not work. I had success with needle nose pliers. I gently grabbed the hing on the old lid and pulled it away from the receiver. The other side slipped out. With new lid I inserted one side of the hing in place and gently pulled the other side so it would slip into the receiver on the body of the dust bin.

Fits perfectly and seals great. Feels like similar quality to the factory part. Easy to swap out, just be careful because it is plastic and any plastic part can be prone to breakage with enough force.
