GOT AN XL SIZE, FIT MY BIG HEAD PERFECT, ALSO LIKED ALL THE AIR VENTS. NO CLEAR FACE SHIELD, BUT THAT'S WHAT I WANTED. VERY GOOD HELMET.

Solid helmet at a great price
Gotten a bit nervous over the year riding my e-bike which tops out at 28MPH so I decided that it is time to get a full-face helmet to help protect me in case I really wipe out on the bike. I've ridden with this helmet on for a few hours now and love it. It's lightweight, fits well (got an XL for my huge noggin) and doesn't get too hot. Also, it still offers enough visibility to be able to easily see traffic while riding. I'm really happy with my purchase even though I may look like a nut wearing this full face helmet on the bike trails. 🤣

A voice not from *vine*
I figure I would do a review as someone who actually purchased the helmet.... I have been a Mongoose fan for a while, having 2 or their high-end mountain bikes. It looks like Mongoose is starting to bring back some decent products to the states...a few years back, my bikes were not even listed on the USA Mongoose site, you had to go to the overseas site that hosted the type of bikes that Chris Akrigg was riding, but now I see them on the USA site....anyway, about the helmet... I was looking for a new full face. Looking at all the brands out there, the Mongoose was a newcomer, but looked good, so i decided to try it based on features/price and Mongoose does bikes, so I figure I would skip the research on all the budget brands that were trying to pass off motorcycle helmets for cycling...I just wanted a light weight cycling helmet with good protection for e-biking. Pros: *The helmet fits well for me...typically a Medium, with more of an oval head shape. *The helmet is light weight (805 grams according to my scale) *Padding seems good with out being too compressing. *I like that the snout isn't ridiculously long or lowered. It provides a good protection where you need it without creating an opening big enough to drop a water bottle into. You may not find that as a benefit, but i did being this was for e-biking for my purpose. *There are bug screens over all the vents...I hate helmets with wide gaping holes that allow bugs and debris through. *It uses a clip fastener instead of d-loops *It has an integrated goggle strap channel...though i don't think the placement of the channel is quite perfect. Cons: *Instead of a liner, it uses strategically placed pads held by velcro, which there is nothing new about that... bike helmets have done this for a while...but, i would like to see more contact points. I am not saying the helmet is uncomfortable...just saying that the more contact points used, the more comfortable and adjustable the helmet is, and if Mongoose is only offering one size of this helmet, they really need to give a padding kit, or move to more of a liner type system. *As mentioned before, the goggle strap groove placement does not seem perfect, but that may be particular for me. The attached image shows the single large pad at the top of the head, and then no more padding until you get down around the circumference of your brow. Overall this helmet fits into a very competitive space, but offers an attractive skull bucket, with some good features, and if this is Mongoose's entry effort into full-face helmets, i would like to see them make more models and more colors.

Lightweight and comfortable
This is so much more comfortable than the heavy, more expensive downhill Giro helmet. My son would not wear that one but will gladly wear this. Looks good, feels good, and hopefully safe!

Good beginner full face
Fits very well, there is not much protecting padding on the jaw area and the one it has its light for the head, looks ok overall for a trail but nothing extreme for sure, dont buy it if you planning to do downhill or some extreme jumping.

Size up!!! Add 2 inches to head measurement.
My head measures 58.5", but always wear XL helmets. Glad I went with the XL rather than Large, as size chart recommended. Has the perfect amount of squeeze on the cheeks and fits great. Add 2" to your head measurement before buying.
