How much fluid is left in container after it is done pumping ?

I ran into the same issue. There was about 200mL of 75-90w gear oil left in the bottom of mine that I was unable to pump out.

can you leave it full of oil during storage or will it seep up into the pump?

Based on what I remember from the instructions, I believe they recommend cleaning the unit after each use with the appropriate cleaning solution for the fluid used. They say not to use brake fluid to clean the unit. They suggest using denatured alcohol to clean tank and hose (expensive stuff). In my case, I did leave some transmission fluid at the bottom of the pump and stored it that way (did not clean it). I have chosen to use my pump strictly for this one type of fluid and nothing else, so in this respect, not much worried about future contamination issues originating from not cleaning.

How long do these power fills hold up for?

They are only good for one use then throw it away. Ok just kidding - I've had mine for over 10 years since I made the very first one. Thanks - Motive Products.
