This is by far one of the best tools I think I've ever bought! Definitely worth the couple extra dollars for the stability. And the straight cuts.. makes the job so much faster! What are you waiting for??

Lost a star because of price not performance
Okay this thing performs great I love it really sharp cuts the film way better than the standard one that it comes with but holy crap it's expensive it's kind of worth it I would buy it again but I'm angry that this stupid thing cost so much.

Upgraded to this blade
I started with the blade that you can buy at the local big box store. That thing was useless! It flexed way too much so cutting plastic with it one handed was rage inducing! I hold the plastic to the wall with one hand and so only had one hand available to hold the masking tool. The basic blade flexes WAY too much to work one handed. So I returned that and ordered this one. That was the way to go! Since this one is anchored in 2 places it actually works. I am still not very proficient with it, but no more swear-fests when trying to use it. Frankly, 3M should stop selling the other version and only sell this one. It's the same price and this one works. The other one only hurts their reputation.

Excellent device!
My husband is a contractor and he loves this. When he’s on a ladder needing to pull out plastic, or paper the locking device holds the paper/plastic on the masking device; so it cuts straight every time with no waste. Nor loss time trying to untangle a mess from paper/plastic coming unraveled. This should come standard on any handmasker.
