The product felt a little flimsy. The piece that moves back and forth is weak and will easily move while using the compass. I can see it getting worse over time. But for the money, it has great value.

Learning Resources has put together a nice quality Bullseye Safe-T Compass. This is certainly much safer to have around than the ones with a big freaking spike sticking out and the other side that holds a pencil that you have to keep adjusting. It is so easy since you can set the clear bulls eye over the point you want to start with and then adjust your slide in the ruler to where you want your circle and stick a pen or pencil in to draw it out. Make sure you do not push the bulls eye part out as it does not go back together and stay that way after that happens. Overall, a great tool to have around the house or send to school with the kiddos.

Great for circles

The way this laid out you can’t make a 1cm circle, or 5in circle, even though these measurements are on the instrument. There’s also no way to lock the slide to where you want it so your circle doesn’t stay the same size all the way around. Also, the center piece popped out and is impossible to pop back in. I returned it. We got a different circle maker that is much better. Even an old school compass will be less frustrating.

I was in need of a tool that draws circles but doesn't leave holes in my paper, like a regular compass. The idea behind this product is great, move the slider to set your radius and away you go. The execution, however, was not very good. Like others have said, unless the slider can be clamped down to stay still, your circles will come out uneven despite your best attempts. Even if you only want this product for quick circles that look 'good enough', the rotating piece at one end where the picture shows someone holding it down with their finger isn't great either. It's very hard to spin this piece and as a result you have to use force to complete a revolution, which practically guarantees that the slider will move while in use. This can be remedied by the use of another pencil to 'pin' the compass down while the other pencil marks the circle, but since the hole in the rotating bit is larger than the end of a pencil it still comes out wobbly. I will say, though, that I like the mini-protractor on it. If I weren't so bad at drawing circles this would be a 5-star product.

These protractors are great--so easy to use, unlike the traditional protractor!

J'ai acheté cet outil pour aider mon fils en géométrie... Je l'ai manipulé moi même et dans les 15 secondes, il était cassé.

Buen producto a buen precio. No esperen recibir algo de talla profesional, esto es más una herramienta de nivel escolar/aficionado. Muy útil, la verdad. El material está bien, se ve resistente y me parece un objeto muy ingenioso ya que puedo trazar circunferencias de casi todos los tamaños posibles (hasta un radio máximo de 12 cm.). Me habría encantado tener algo así cuando fui estudiante en secundaria y preparatoria. El envío fue rápido y llegó sin problemas. Todo muy bien.

Should be a mandatory tool in every grade 3-8 student's geometry kit. All in one. Compass, ruler, protractor! Fairly solid build.
