Great product, it works well, great for a challenge.

The kit contains: * a clear plastic encased equivalent of a padlock, with one row of pins, with one key. Mine seemed to have at least one stuck-unlocked pin. * a clear plastic encased equivalent of a double-sided through door lock, with one row of pins on each side, with two copies of the same key, to try on both sides. This can jam if picked and half rotated, but can be unjammed by using a flat edge to push all the pins away from the cylinder, like the flat edge of the key does. * a double-thick credit-card sized plastic holder of some metal picks and a double-ended torsion bar. * a leather-like pouch, with snap closure, containing many plastic handled metal picks, and multiple different torsion bars, in a plastic zip bag. For practical use, a tool strip/sheet may be more practical. * a book on lock picking, including about the inevitable manufacturing variations which make lock picking possible. I found picking easier using the credit-card's set initially, possibly because it's torsion bar's ends took up less space in the key slots. It was surprisingly easy to pick the locks, but that maybe deliberate to inspire entry-level confidence. The process was similar to cracking a combination lock, which also abuses manufacturing variations. I may try seeing how transferable this is to some real locks I have. The book even mentions some of the anti-picking traps, and how to detect and workaround them. I suspect that high-security lock mechanisms (e.g. in my ABUS bicycle D-locks) will be a lot harder to pick; I'm frankly shocked that these have not become routinely used for front door locks too, in Great Britain. Maybe key cutting shops can't copy high-security lock keys, so they're not favoured for this use.

Good fun and good quality

Very well presented. Easy to understand book. Good quality tools. Only bad side is I'm a complete newbie seen a video on raking the lock, first try got into the lock in seconds now can do it in seconds every time so feel like the lock maybe too cheap. Going to buy a better lock soon and will try on that

This is by far the best quality starter set I have come across the picks are polished with no sharp edges and there is a great selection of profiles also the selection of tensioners are brilliant too tok and bok I brought this for my son as I'm an experienced Picker and couldn't believe the quality! This set was great for me to start learning and a lot cheaper than many other kits I’ve seen, the build quality was good and its ease of use and understanding was great. The locks have good functionality and were fantastic for a beginner. Only gripe is that the picks, even though well made feel a bit cheap and after a while hurt my hands when in use.

This is a great gift. It has everything you need to get started with lock picking, and it is a good price.

I'm very new to lock picking but having seen a lot of YouTube channels and countless videos I thought that I would get a beginners lock picking kit to try out and see how I get on. Many have said that lock picking is both good exercise for the brain and often theraputic, which appeals to me. Plus if I ever get locked out of my garage (as happened once) I might be able to get in again! Because I am learning, I've only had a little play with all these different tools and locks, but everything looks and feels of high quality. There is a wide variety of picks and rakes, and a bag of different tension tools too. Included is a nice PU leather pouch to keep the tools in. There is a physical 44 page book included written by Chris Dangerfield and I believe that this whole kit is endorsed by him, so I think that is why it is of good quality. The only let down in my kit was that it must have been in slightly damp storage and on the two ended lock the metal middle part has become tarnished with a little surface rust. A small sachet of silica gel would have helped prevent this. Oh well. Not to worry, the rest of the kit is mint. The book is very good too. It's not the nicest looking design inside and it could do with a refresh in style, but the content is great. There are a lot of photos as well as clearly written text that is easy to understand. Overall I am really pleased with this kit and I hope that it helps keep my brain focused and my fingers nimble. Recommended!
