desertcart.com: Royce Rolls: 9781484732335: Stohl, Margaret: Books Review: Surprisingly Fantastic - I was expecting a fluffy romp that pokes fun at Hollywood. What I got was a deep story of a family and their issues, with a LOT of deconstruction of what "reality" means for the people who are payed to portray it. The lives of the Royce family are interesting, and I found it so easy to empathize with the family, despite all the shenanigans they do. Bentley is a sarcastic and very self-aware heroine, and hearing the story from her perspective is a delight. She hates the industry and that she's been on display for the world to see ever since her preteen years. But she loves her family, despite the fact that her mother is the one pushing the hardest to show the world every dirty secret and experience the family has. And the ending is amazing. So many pieces come full circle, and I was absolutely floored with where these characters ended their stories. A definite recommendation from me. I had a great time with this look into Hollywood reality. I laughed out loud and I thought about how I consume that form of media. Review: Hard to get through but worth it - Over all, it's a great book a really good one and clever one ! I would never have seen where this book was headed. With that being said, it was hard for me to get through 50% of the book. But after having finished it, it is worth it. It's amazing in an overall picture. I loved it and it's worth the read.

Quick and quirky
(3.5) This is a good story for those that really like YA, "reality" TV, that like light stories that read quickly, and that enjoy stories that aren't incredibly plot heavy. This is the story of the Royce family. They are a TV family that's been on air for the past 5 years and are looking to be renewed for the 6th season. In the family you have the mother Mercedes, eldest daughter and most girly of the bunch Porsche, middle child Bentley, and youngest son Maybach. This story mostly focuses around 17 year old Bentley and her woes. The story starts out with a headlining story about Bentley and her sisters fiance being presumed dead after their car went off the road. From there the story backtracks 11 months to get to that point. This is an interesting story. You can definitely see where the inspirations come from throughout the book and it's fun little thing to look for. The family in the story isn't all that bad. They have likable and unlikable qualities. As you're reading it you start to pick out who you like and don't like so much pretty quickly. I would say most of this story isn't when the cameras are rolling but more about what Bentley is thinking and doing when they aren't. It's mostly a good story but I will say I wasn't a big fan of how the love interest worked out. It was a little too odd when you get to the end but I'll leave that one to you since it'd be a spoiler. There is a big part of the end I just didn't like that I can't mention either but when it came to the very end I did feel like it wrapped up nicely. I would say this book is worth reading if you are feeling inclined to do so. It's a fast read and it's a fun one. Once you read it you can see for yourself how you feel since the reviews are pretty all over the place. I will say that there aren't really enough reviews out there for this one so it definitely needs some more readers to get a better idea of how people are thinking and feeling about it.

Mangert Stohl has done it again!
Yet another lovley example of how sometimes imangination is the best vacation :). It almost felt like I was binge watching my favorite show, Duck Dynisty. Some questions do remain unsanswered however: For starters, how did the author, Magnet Stohl, get such private access to such a a famous family? If they're supposedly so famous, why did they let this author tag along for even such intimate momnts as a major car crash? She's a great journalist, but I think Ms. Mangot Stohl should consider releasing a "making of" for us aspiring investigative journalist who want to know her methods. :) ANother thing, I hope in the sequel this author plans to explain the tie in with her last book, Beautifl Creepers. I waited and waited and it wasn't until the very end that there is cross over. Please write more, Marglet!
