The DHA & EPA oil used in this product is derived from microalgae grown in a closed-culture facility on land, using drinkable water. It is clean, safe and free of ocean-borne contaminants. Review: This is the best Vegan DHA EPA product so far. Solution to fishy taste in my review. - Have noticed positive changes in my eyesight and mood since taking this supplement. I like this particular product because it has no extra chemicals such as carrageenan or caramel color unlike the other brands of vegan DHA/EPA supplements. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a strong fishy smell and taste BUT this is easily solved. I found two solutions to the problem. One way is to take it with a teaspoon of lemon juice. The second and best way is to purchase vegetarian gel capsules, 0 or 00 size (I use 0 size caps), and make your own pills by using the eyedropper that already comes with this product. The result is ZERO fishy taste! Only make one pill at a time because the gel capsule will probably dissolve from the liquid if given time. A whole serving fills one 0 size capsule. Please vote this review as helpful, if you found it to be so other users will find the solution to the fishy taste. Review: Good product, beware of strong flavor - I absolutely love that there is a good variety of vegan items out there such as this and for a great price too. That being said, I'll have to save this for when I can add it to something else that has an extremely overpowering flavor. The taste is just too much for me. It tastes like seaweed and lemon but oily, which I completely understand and refuse to give a bad review because of my tastebuds. I knew what to expect when I bought it and figured I'd give it a try anyways. I, however, have purchased the deva vegan omega 3-dha liquid gels in the past and again after this product and like them just fine. I'm willing to pay that extra price so that I can actually get it into my tummy. :)

Okay. Maybe not for early pregnancy
These drops did the job for the first half of my pregnancy, but I had morning sickness for 2.5 months and was positively sickened by even the smell of a drip on the closed bottle. I had to hold my nose while taking my dose, swallow with my nose still pinched (did you know that's possible? I didn't), then immediately start on a piece of strong cinnamon chewing gum so I wouldn't wretch. That said, once the morning sickness and taste distortion let up and I was able to go back to eating broccoli and lentils with joy, the DHA drops became suddenly tolerable. Mostly just tasted like funky lemon. No gum necessary. I finished them off and bought some DHA capsules instead, just because the drops are a little messy and the bottle tended to leak somehow. But if you aren't experiencing severe food aversions and you need drops, these will probably do you fine.

For a specific consumer
PROS: No carrageenan!; adjustable dose; EPA+DHA; not overly expensive CONS: Taste haha Who knew algae oil from the sea would taste like.... the sea? Yes, the taste isn't great but I drop it into some bread and get it over with in 20 seconds. The 5-star review comes from the PROS I listed. There are no other carrageenan-free products that also have epa AND dha combined close to this ratio. The dropper allows you to adjust the dose to your liking and the product is priced competitively with other sources of EPA+DHA. I got what I expected when I bought it, so 5 star. I imagine low star rankings are because the taste surprised people.

Stick to the capsules!
I've previously only bought the capsules (same brand) and decided to give the drops a try. First off, it is hard to gauge what an actual dose is, unless you individually count the drops, and even then it's questionable. I ended up going through this bottle a lot faster than I would have just buying the 90 ct. capsules. Other than that, the taste is fine but mine settled a crazy amount - the entire bottom of the bottle was extreme lemon flavor and more condensed, despite shaking it regularly and with every use.

Vegan with both dha and epa
I previously used the regular deva vegan dha drops. But was glad to see they had a dha and epa version. Was dificult finding something that was vegan and in a form that kids would like. This does the trick. Kids like the flavor too. This has a doseage for children an adults. The price is good also compared to the vegan version of nordic naturals. Also, this should be refrigerated after opening. I would recommend this product. Only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because it clumps up. Really needs a good shaking every time or it seperates and one part settles at the bottom. And the dropper is terrible. It leaks out often. update 2/25/2015- i continue to use this product. Several months ago I realized something was different with the liquid. I contacted Deva and they informed me that they changed the formula. The new formula does not clump up and the dropper leaks much less. I updated my review to reflect 5 stars.

The taste is great but the dropper gets clogged before the bottle gets ...
The taste is great but the dropper gets clogged before the bottle gets used. Even worse is that the product stratifies pretty bad. There always ends up being a clogged glob at the bottom and the end of use, and this is a significant portion of product. I have gone through many of these for my daughter, who is now 5. After this last bottle I will be switching to the pills. To use the pills you just poke the end with a needle and squeeze it out. I wish they made flavored or chewable pills. My daughter, understandably, hates the taste.

Product just arrived. It's semi-solid, not liquid as expected, so it's not use able as the dropper won't work. First time disappointment with this company.
