Buy it! This is really a dream come true being able to use my spherical variable ND filters in this matte box! It’s very light. Built very well. NOTE: if you have a VND that has a “putter”, it won’t work. There’s not enough room. Well, at least when going to 82mm. I wouldn’t count on it unless you have seen it will fit. The “putter” on some variable ND filters is basically a a stem that protrudes for easier adjustment. Great Quality as expected from SmallRig! I’m using it on a LUMIX S5. Right now, I have a Sigma 35mm dgdn f1.4 on it. Which has a 67mm front thread. So I’m using the 67mm to 95 ring that comes with the mattebox. From there, I bought a 67mm to 82mm step up ring for the front. I then use my 82mm ND variable filter. Again, a dream come true. I will buy more of these for my other rigs! Did I mention it looks classy! Love it!

Smallrig sigue sin defraudarme, es ligero y funcional, viene con su bolsa de transporte y cuatro adaptadores para el montaje en los lentes (solo algunas medidas). Yo ya tenía unos adaptadores para montar filtros más grandes y esto además me permite colocar este mate box sin la necesidad de adquirir los otros anillos.

Once again, SmallRig delivers. This mini matte box is simple but very effective, doing exactly what it’s meant to without adding bulk. It fits easily on my DSLR setup and works well with different filter sizes. Shooting into the sun, it’s actually really effective at cutting glare and keeping the image clean. And let’s be honest, while small DSLRs are great cameras, some clients don’t always take them seriously. Having this matte box on instantly gives your setup a more professional look, which helps pump things up to a new level. Great build quality at a great price.
