Best mic stand I've used
Works great and is very sturdy. The boom slides down inside the main pole which makes packing easier. I highly recommend.

6 stars!
This is by far the best microphone stand I've ever had! I am 6 ft tall and every microphone stand I have comes up to around my face level but it starts to Teeter if I'm not careful. With this microphone stand, it doesn't Teeter at all. The design is amazing. There's a little trigger that you hold in to adjust the height on the pole which is way way easy. I can also adjust it taller than I am which allows me to put my large diaphragm condenser microphone upside down which is done to dissipate heat from the microphone and allow your throat and vocals to open more by having your head raised lightly. I really noticed a difference in my singing from just that little Added Touch. And also looks awesome! It really makes me feel like a professional. It was well worth the price. That's also so easy to put back in its original shape that portability is not a problem. Six stars!

Great mic stand.
This boom stand is different than most in that it does not have a separate boom that screws on the top. The boom is an integral feature that nests inside the main tube when it is not needed. Sort of like a Yamaha cymbal stand boom. Despite having no counterweight, the boom angle adjustment tightens and holds the arm securely. I regularly use this fully extended to put an x-y pair of condensers in a grand piano with no stability problems at all. The stand is light, and folds compactly, yet is extremely stable. The only thing to watch is that the boom will not swing laterally, if you are a drummer who likes to swing the mic out of the way when it isn't being used, will not work for this. All other uses, however are exemplary

Great stand.
I love this stand. It’s stout and multifunctional. Seems to be built to last. It’s sturdy enough to hold my music stand attachment and a mic attachment for my sax mic, while still holding my vocal mic. So far so good.

Best Boom Mic Stand. Period.
I am a bit of a research freak when it comes to purchasing gear. I looked high and low for a boom stand from companies like Ultimate, K&M, and OnStage to name a few and this was the stand I ended up with. Here are my reasons why: 1. Quick-N-EZ adapter: Yes, the name is lame but the concept is amazing. Instead of spinning your shockmount around and around 50 times on the boom, just have a simple clutch that removes the end piece and easily screws into any clip or shockmount and attaches with the flick of a finger. Simple and genius. 2. The ability to adjust all parameters of the boom with one LARGE knob that is very easy to turn. 3. The boom hides into the stand for storage. 4. The stand is built like a tank, heavy, and not easy to tip over. If you want one steadfast boom stand that will last you for years... this is your stand.

This stand is amazing! Build quality is great and it is very sturdy. The design is awesome. You can quickly adjust the height by squeezing the gadget on the main shaft with one hand and raising the inner shaft with the other. No need to do a bunch of unscrewing and screwing. Likewise, changing the length and angle of the boom is super fast and easy. Lastly, the boom telescopes into the main shaft so that this becomes an elegant straight microphone stand. You will not be disappointed. After purchasing a piano Hercules bench and this microphone stand, I will definitely look to Hercules for other products. Hercules products are more expensive but you are paying for better quality and better design. Worth every penny!

Good, Not Extraordinary
I own several mic stands, mainly Unltimate Stands stacking variety, but also a no-name tripod. I purchased the Hercules Stands MS533B because I wanted something more robust, something that would support a greater load. My intention was to use a heavy and expensive large diaphram studio condenser microphone inside a Harlin Hogan Porta-Booth Plus acoustic enclosure. This is a substantial load, and I wanted a better quality mic stand. This Hercules stand will work fine for my application, but it is a little less than ideal. At this price point, however, it is probably not possible to do any better. My primary reservation is weight - for any application like mine, more is more. Meaning that when you are hanging a lot of weight (and money) on the end of a mic boom, you want a heavyweight base to provide ballast and keep the stand from tipping over. For this, I think you can expect to spend hundreds of dollars for a studio grade, non-portable mic stand, which is clearly a different animal. This Hercules stand will work for me, but only because I have a filmmaking shot bag filled with lead shot available to throw across one of the tripod legs. I wish there were a locking mechanism to keep the tripod legs fully extended. As it is, I have to position one tripod leg pointing directly under the boom, then ballast that leg, which is a bit awkward to be putting weight on the same side of the stand as the load. If the shot bag were placed onto a leg placed on the opposite side of the boom, I am afraid the leg would be able to fold into storage position and somehow escape the counterbalancing weight, allowing the stand to tip over.

AWESOME PURCHASE!
This is a very sturdy mic stand that has a great stable boom! It arrives pretty much put together, except for attaching the mic clip. Boom does not sag on you. I absolutely love it! Definitely worth the price!!

I bought this because my other booms were cheap and couldn't hold my mic up at certain angles. This one does everything I wanted without falling over. I'm mostly putting it through fairly basic use, but it works well. If you knock it while the arm is fully extended and weighed down it will fall over, but that's to be expected. In every other position I've tried it, it is stable. It's quick to adjust, has a decent range of heights, and the hideaway boom is helpful for transport. It does everything I wanted for youtube.

Can’t go wrong with Hercules brand of products. I have used numerous other mic stands and mic clips over the years and nothing compares to the Hercules brand. Sturdy, well made, and reliable especially when playing a gig.
