Stated specifications are incorrect
The stated product specifications are incorrect. They state that the A port can operate over a voltage range of 1.2V to 3.6V, but in fact it can only operate down to 1.4V, not 1.2V. The stated specifications appear to be based on the TI TXB0108 level translator IC, which presumably was used in the original design. But the IC that's actually populated on the board as delivered is the TI TXS0108E. These two level translator ICs are functionally similar but have different electrical characteristics. It is not an electrically equivalent substitution.
