Great for monitoring aquarium filter flow
I am very impressed with this flow sensor. I purchased two to be used on my African Cichlid aquarium. I have two canister filters--and I didn't notice that my flow was significantly reduced before I went on vacation during the 4th of July weekend. Came back to several dead fish... :( I am using this with a Particle Photon combined with the Blynk app to remotely monitor the flow and alert me if the flow is below a threshold. I found barbed tube (5/8") fittings on McMaster, part # 5372K218. The sensors have a 3 pin JST connector (available on Amazon).

Most of the bad reviews are from ignorance
People fail to understand that 3/4 npt is not the same as a garden hose, the "missing wiring diagram" is on the side of the part and if the sticker came off its literally in the picture on this Amazon listing, I will update as to the longevity of this once I get some hours on it.

Threading is common pipe thread!
Great flow meter! I used three to monitor various flows going into my aquarium. Doesn't disturb the filter flow at all. Despite what the other reviews have been saying, this has a standard 3/4" MIP thread. The same thread that's used on garden hoses and plumbing parts. It's very easy to find pvc and hose barb adapters that fit it.

BSP thread - not NPT
The unit worked in tests and is accurate with the correct code on ESP 8266 D1 mini. Haven't installed because the threads appear to be BSP (British) which is more common not NPT (American) - close but not exact. Others have claimed to be NPT, but don't really back this up. I was going to get the Digiten brass equivalent (YF-B5) but doubt it would be NPT either. I think they make adapters if/when I continue this project Update: Had to buy adapters. finally finished project. By then the wires got wet (once) and are fraying. Now have to open sensor and replace wires. There is no protection where they enter the sensor - seems like all of them are like that though

Works great, priced well, decent shipping time from china as well.

Exactly what it says it is - UPDATE -- UNIT FAILED in 6 months
Works great - using it with an Arduino to monitor water flow. Plugs in to the circuit fine - and just does its thing. UPDATED: Well I no longer can recommend this unit. After less than 6 months the units signal started "chattering" (i.e. hundreds of pulses per second - and no water was flowing). Figured it was "sitting" at the hall-trip point - and adjusted my code. Less than 2 weeks later it started happening 3-4 times a day - and now it is at the point of "not working normally" at all - and when it does anything - it just chatters. Will change to a different brand - disappointing as this seemed like a nice unit. I may do a disassembly to see if any failure-diagnostics are possible.

this does not have 3/4" fOD ittings as I was ...
this does not have 3/4" fOD ittings as I was told by their sales staff. It has 1"fittings. It has a 3/4" ID

I tried two other versions of flow detectors. They required too greater flow to trip. With the addition of a bit of electronics these work VERY well. Detects a tap on very low flow rate. Also VERY good price.

This flow sensor works good with an Arduino Nano. I am using it to control an air injection pump cut in/cut out for my well water filter system. Installed Aug 2024 and runs 40-50 times/day for 10-15 secs each time and no issues so far except that it is louder than I expected when activated. I settled for this G thread (BSP) type only because there were absolutely no NPT flow sensors available on Amazon.ca rated at 60L/min. And the solitary NPT version I found on Amazon.com would not ship to Canada. I think that they would sell a lot more of them if they were made available in NPT.
