Mixing reducer, flow enhancer and paint well to get the right sprayable viscosity is key for good airbrushing. Using the air back flow may work as a shortcut when just a capful of paint mixture is needed, but it won’t cut for a large project just like faux wood airbrushing on my garage door where I mixed large quality of paint using this machine to ensure consistency. I never used such vortex mixer before, so I was a bit skeptic while ordering it. The machine surprised me by its powerful shakes. I got some large plastic culture test tube with cap to mix paint batches. Pressing the test tube on the silicone top starts the vortex shake. Harder I press, faster it mixes the paint. It really helps my hobby airbrush projects simple. It is a good product.

For the price, I am legitimately disappointed at how freaking good this works. It is not the same as your brand name vortex mixer in a lab, but for a home lab, it's a great value!

This is cheap and works pretty well for mixing Army Painter paints. However, I still shake the paint bottles a little bit before and after putting it on this.

I do a lot of plastic model work, I use this mixer to mix my paints and does a great job. I have use it for little over a year now and had not one problem with it!

Got this for mixing paint thinking it would be a decent choice after reading reviews, etc. I typically paint 5ish nights a week.It performs well just long enough to get through the return window. Six weeks in now, and it hardly wants to run. Have to fight with it to find a proper angle to make it work, then it runs for 3s or so before it dies again.If you want something cheap, for occasional use, and you’re fine with the hassle, then this may work for you. Personally, I wish I’d spent a little more for a better one now.Absolutely do not recommend for any kind of long-term or consistent use, even if you may save a few dollars.Three stars because you get what you pay for, and I can still usually make it work after fighting with it for a few minutes.

The media could not be loaded. It’s powerful enough to mix most of my hobby paints, it does take a bit more effort on thicker paints might need to shake by hand in between but gets the job done, I put couple 7mm glass balls in each bottle to help agitate when mixing, overall happy with it and really like the small footprint so it doesn’t take up too much space on my desk.

Pretty great for mixing small paints for mini figures. I use it for my warhammer and tabletop paints and mixes them pretty well, fantastic for stubborn metallics!
