Why did you pick this product vs others?: I own a 1993 Ford F-150 and had an AC issue that led me to converting system from R12 to R134a. I certainly wanted R12 mostly to make things easier, it cools far better and the OEM components were made to accommodate R12 and not R134a, so it's not as efficient. The issue I had was that the desiccant in the accumulator/dryer broke apart and clogged the orifice tube. I was sure that some of it found its way to other components throughout the system. I rented a compressor from one of the big box home stores, purchased several courts of AC flush, and finally, this unit to connect to the compressor so that the flush is forced out under high pressure. I replaced the compressor just to be safe so I don't have to clean it, so I focused my energy on the lines, condenser and evaporator. It's a messy job no matter how hard you try to make it not so. You're refilling bottles, changing from bottle to air nozzle, it's just a mess. Luckily, the cleaner is essentially just that, a cleaner with a citrus smell so it's easy enough to rinse off if you want, or just let it evaporate. The Four Uncles tool isn’t absolute necessity if you intend to flush components, but it no doubt improves the results. I flushed the evaporator so many times and re-used some of the flush after it's settled. I was much more concerned about the desiccant versus oils or anything like that. I may have to break the system open again and replace the orifice to again, as it should trap any remaining desiccant within this system. For now, it's working as well as can be expected. Pressures are where they need to be, but it definitely does not cool as well as the R12 well did. If I notice any fall off or other issues that will expedite breaking the system open again. Depending on what I find, I may use this tool again to perform another flush.

Please read my review to the end where I made an important statement concerning the corrections of imperfections that my unit had. This unit is well built but the one that I received had a very faulty high pressure safety valve. The hole in the brass casting was drilled undersized which did not allow the round nose of the piece that the o-ring seal is mounted on to seat against the casting. Air rushed out of the safety valve regardless of the pressure that was applied to the tank. By drilling out the hole in the brass casting a little larger, using numbered drills, the seal ring was able to make correct contact and make a good seal. After the correction, adjusting the correct opening pressure was a simple task. The other imperfection was that the enclosed quick connect US adaptor had a mounting thread that was too small in diameter which required the use of heavy duty industrial gas line teflon tape in order to get it to seal. I still had to replace the adaptor because it would not create a seal with my female connectors on the ends of my air lines. With the exception of these correctable problems, the unit is of good quality and worked great. UPDATE: On 3-30-2023, I have been assured by the manufacturer of this product that they have corrected the issues that I found to be a problem. In light of this, I am changing my rating to 5 stars because the product is very a well engineered item and should work well now that the issues have been corrected.

It works great & the canister seems of good quality, the rest of it not so much. Look for $30ish what do you expect? ALL brass fitting will need replaced with quality parts, that's easy enough, but shouldn't have to of course. All fittings, even the air side have no taper & no amount of teflon will fix that, just buy new, same goes for the air gun side. I was surprised at the amount of product this thing pumps also! On flushing hoses regulate by modulating the trigger, to flush an evaporator, you have to let it rip & you'll pump 2 qts, 1 at a time of course, almost instantly!!! I think I'll start flushing with brake cleaner, then follow with a/c flush next time. UPDATE: I was contacted by customer service & offered a full refund atleast, so customer service is stellar even if this product just wasn't. As I said though, this is a good product EXCEPT will need a couple fittings to make it proper BUT for the cost it was just fine for me.
