Dozens of successful fermentations without complications
These lids are well designed, well made, and easy to clean. I've had them over a year and done dozens of fermentations without any contamination.

Fermenting made simple
These work really well! I saw a post on Insta using these to make fermented bananas and it piqued my interest. These made it super simple to do. I can not recommend the fermented bananas, though they were very bubbly the flavor was not great.

Pretty good for beginners
This is a pretty good kit. The lids are pretty and mostly see-through (pretty useful to see what is going on from the top). I already did the sauerkratt recipe they give you (pretty good), did my own version of kimchi (very spicy), fermented beets, "chayote" (I know it as tayota, but according to google translate, in english is known as that, so, look it up if you are curious), tomato (not the best idea, it worked, but did not work), and also fermented habanero peppers, jalapenos and thai peppers. So far, I have only failed one, and I left for a bit longer than I should have. And I have yet to change the grommets and plastic protector ont he lids. Having said that. this does not come with weights or any other utensils, only the lids, the valve and their grommets (as in, no spare grommets). Still pretty good for beginners, as it is "cheaper" than other kits. But if you are more experienced and have a better feel for fermenting, maybe another kit with more "tools" might be better. It is also hard to buy lids online as you don't know what may work and what may not. Honestly, I have a bunch of glass jars I want to reuse but most of their lids are rusted or broken. This didn't help with it, I had to buy other glass for this (even then I don't regret it, hehe, they are pretty good quality and really pretty).

Perfect for those extra mason jars around the house
About as easy to use as it comes in a simple design. It's a perfect size/weight and seems durable enough. I've been using them for about a year now making my own sauerkraut and vinegars.

Good deal
Make darn sure enough head space is left. If not the weight gets stuck, like glue, in the jar. Had to take a hammer to it to loosen. Grateful the canning jar didn't break! 🙂
