These were a Christmas gift for my niece, she loved them.

Does what it is supposed to do, hold laces where I put them vs. non-waxed laces where they self-adjust throughout the game.

I use these laces in a purely recreational capacity but they do what I need them to do. They hold my skates tightly and don't gradually loosen over time like the non-waxed laces tend to do. I would recommend buying a size bigger than what you anticipate then cutting to length as needed.
