great piece of kit
This Universal Audio Volt 1 USB recording interface is absolutely killer for anyone wanting pro-level sound without turning their desk into a cable nightmare—just plug it into your Mac/PC/iPad, and boom, you’re rocking classic UA mic preamp tone with its vintage 610 tube emulation and crystal-clear 24‑bit/192 kHz converters with built in gain and volume control. It’s built like a brick—solid knobs, sturdy chassis, zero wiggle in the connections—and even throws in MIDI I/O, phantom power, zero-latency monitoring and direct-drive headphone output . Plus you get a sweet CargoCult of software—LUNA, Ableton Live Lite, Melodyne, Marshall/Ampeg amps, and more—so you can start recording legendary-sounding vocals, guitars, or podcast episodes right out of the box . For under $150, it’s the gold standard for solo creators—no bull, just massive studio tone in a sleek little package. Easy to use and setup, practically plug and play.

Great build for an interface under 200$!
I got the Volt 1 (no comp), and I’m very satisfied with it so far! It pairs perfectly with my DT 770’s and sounds great! It’s nice and compact in one unit so it doesn’t take up too much space either. The knobs are feel great, and recording quality is definitely up there. The vintage mode is a nice touch too! Definitely worth the price range for this product!

I have become a Universal Audio fan!
First, the packaging is as fine as it gets - a beautiful gift box inside with excellent product protection. It was a joy to unpack. More importantly, the audio interface works instantly - plug and play. I have not recorded through it yet, but based on other reviews I have high hopes. I HAVE been mixing down with the interface and I find the signal to be very clear and revealing. For whatever reason the stereo perception seems excellent, which to me is critical for pristine mixes. I'm going to hazard that it's the best interface in the price range and by far when factoring the included free software. I need to update my computer and DAW to take advantage of the software, but if you are wondering if this interface will work with an older system: I have a Late 2012 Mac Mini running Catalina. The interface was recognized upon plugging in and works great! I highly recommend and I an sure if/when I upgrade again it will be to another UA interface. (I'ma submit some product ideas to the company too because I have no intention of getting into the manufacturing business and their are some deficits in clever, affordable out gear these days.)

Worth its value plus more if you get it in sale
Great little audio interface if you get it on sale. If not in on sale there are other good entry level audio interfaces. Can produce enough power to power my hd600(tho the headphones could probably use more power).

Great sound for a great price
Very good quality sound, preamps sound amazing. Very easy to use and very fast connection speed. Only interface I’ve used so far that can record with playback though the DAW instead of direct playback through the device.

Great VO Interface
This is all you need if you are new to Voice Acting. If you want to use it with Avid Pro Tools, you need to make sure that you install UA connect and the driver. Works seamlessly for me now. Have gotten 15 shortlists in just over 2 months as a starting VO artist. I don't create music and don't create Podcasts that need more than one mic, so this is a perfect starting interface.

Great!! Been using it for 6 months :)
Been using this interface for 6 months now: Great quality, reliable, sleek, and simple. Low noise, fine latency, amazing vintage pre-amp, and gets the job done right for a single-person band who records everything on their own, one track at a time. Also the plugins that this comes with are amazing and definitely a steal! The only thing that is the slightest bit annoying is the lack of an input mix knob, but most interfaces at this size only have a direct monitoring button, so I make it work fine. Honestly don’t see myself using anything else, and if I need more inputs in the future, I’ll be reaching back here! ps: it’s so much sexier looking in personnn

I'm writing this review as a user that does not have any intentions on recording professionally, only wanted an interface in order to play guitar along mp3s or youtube videos of my favorite band DEATH. I previously tried to use a Rocksmith cable but couldn't not get it to work properly without latency and ASIO drivers while the PC plays music. After a bit of research I discovered that I needed a proper USB Interface for instruments and vocals, so after considering the Scarlett 3rd Gen and this one, I went with this one and do not regret it at all. I like the fact that it uses USB-C and not MicroUSB like others for data. It has a separate USB cable for power. It has a On/Off switch. No need to unplug it when I'm not using it, I can shut it off while leaving both cables plugged. As others mentioned, there's no USB-C cable provided but don't tell me you don't have any spare usb-c cables lying around (unless you're a Mac user). To me, that is not an issue whatsoever. Probably if they had included one, the price would be higher, which would be dumb. In any case, at first I had issues and frustrations trying to play my music through wireless headphones while playing the guitar until I realized 2 fundamental things : 1- You need to update the ASIO drivers by upgrading the fimeware through UA Connect. 2- It's impossible to have Windows play sounds through any device that is NOT the Interface. All sounds are routed to the interface, so forget any wireless/bluetooth headphones. You'll have to plug headphones in the headphone jack of the interface. Fortunately I have a pair of Beyer Dynamic DT-770 headphones that does the job perfectly. The software included is very useful, I use Ableton 11 Lite and recently gone into the rabbit hole of guitar plug-ins. Universal Audio provides good plugins for starters and then you can work your way up with other ones to suit your needs. I don't really use the Vintage or other options on the UA Volt 1 interface, I don't plan on recording, just want to practice with my guitar without bothering anyone at home and this does the job beautifully! I give it 5 stars!
