I bought this to replace an IDE drive with an SSD drive so I needed an adapter. This one worked perfectly in my case.

works well in a Dell desktop carrier, but not so well if the PC does not have a Dell style caddy. cheap tho

I was able to slide my Laptop's Samsung SSD into that big bay where that big Spinner HHD was now and everything works fine for my Dell Optiplex 990 Tower PC.. The ' bow ' or arched end is a little large for my Bay and I had to smash it in some but it all still works. I was a little confused with the instructions telling me to break out pins in sequence? It didnt make a lot of sense. I finally just broke off all these things that could be twisted off and ignored the instructions; everything worked out fine. You just cram the SSD into this and then cram this with the SSD into the old Bay and away you go! Nice.

Easy installation. Does what it should - holds ssd in place without need of screws.

Taking out the old 3.5" drive with a screwdriver would have been a really tough job because of the way the drive mounts were placed inside the computer case. This plastic insert made it a 1- or 2-minute job. (Luckily, the old HDD was in a pull-out tray. If it hadn't been, this would have been a longer job.)

I like the idea of this being tool-less, but....And it did work, sort of. It is a very cheaply made piece of plastic. One of the very thin bottom retaining thingys fell off when sliding on the solid state drive. The SSD is not very securely attached to the bracket, and is too easily removed when the 3.5 in housing is secured to the inside of my PC. I don't plan on moving the PC around a lot, and I did mount a SSD, not a hard drive, so it think it should work ok for me. But if you are looking for securely attaching your 2.5 inch SSD, or hard drive, to a 3.5 inch drive bay, I suggest you consider getting a different bracket, and maybe one that uses screws to attach the drive to the bracket/housing.

I liked how easy it was to install, even though it wasn't a perfect fit because of the design of my case. my case was too small to allow my hand in on one side to fit the little grommets that came with it, but it was so tight that I didn't need them. Might not be a good idea to carry the pc around a lot, but it's a mid tower pc, and it works fine in that. I subtracted one star because it's not quite "universal".

Made life very easy to upgrade my son's PC with a smaller SSD drive. Simply clip the SSD into the bracket, mount it in the PC cradle ... job done in 30 seconds!

Great product and it very easy to attach a Samsung SSD. Unfortunately this mounting bracket was not the right size for my HD tray, so I had to return it to the seller for a refund.
