Perfect pump for inflatable adventure kayak
6 month review...This pump delivers exactly as advertised. It's light, durable and quickly inflates my Advanced Elements Convertible tandem kayak. I use it on all trips just incase I get a puncture or need to top off the air. Happy to say, that after 15 trips, neither scenario has occurred. The features: 1. The pressure gauge works well and appears to be accurate. 2. The double pumping action is solid and smooth- no wobbling. 3. The feet keep it stable while pumping. 4. The hose is adequate in length and does not kink, even after coiling it in my kayak bag for weeks. 5. The the size is small enough to fit in my big kayak duffle bag and easily fits in my bow bungees (see pics). However, if If you're into run or bike-yaking, there are smaller options available. But for driving to the put-in or taking long kayaking trips, this pump is great. 6. While I've used it in Houston summer temps (100° F), I've not tried in colder climates. 7) The set of nozzle adapters work great and fit snug. Note, after 15 uses, the cord holding them together snapped. Can easily find another tether cord.. In conclusion, I researched the heck out of pumps and am confident, for all around purposes, this is a solid investment.

Gets the job done
I got great value for money. This is extremely easy to use. It does require some strength I use it to pump up my paddleboard. I’m unsure if my gauge works correctly the fit is great inside of my paddleboard bag. The speed I would say is medium to slow, but it does great at inflating things that need to be inflated.

Your boats are so great why is this pump so bad
It is very, very fiddly. Sometimes it works great, sometimes it just blows air and nothing pumps up. The hose seems like poor quality, gets kinks and I think will break before long. The many tips are on a loop that is way too short, so they get in your way while you're hooking up to pump. Buy something else. It's also so big that I hate to put it in my boat, but not big enough so that your back gets very sore while pumping (particularly during the 'is it working, is it not working, let me pump for twenty minutes' events, but any time really). In short: booooooo.

Good pump
I got this pump to inflate my Innova kayak to 3 psi and I need the pressure guage to know when I hit 3 psi. This is recommended pressure for my kayak but it is a bit high for things like inflatable swimming pools, air mattresses and beach balls. I think 3 psi is the limit for the pump as the plastic handles start to flex a bit and it starts to get a bit hard to pump. There are higher pressure inflatables and I think a different pump would be better the those. But the pump does move a lot of air quickly. It is a fairly short hand pump requiring you to stand with at least one foot on the base. Given the short length and short stroke length, using the pump requires constant stooping which gets painful quickly. A better design would be to make it more like a bike pump with a longer length. But chances are it would be less painful for you than for me as I'm 6'4". I made the mistake of taking the pump with me in the kayak for top-off inflation. This resulted in water getting in the pressure gauge and causing it to fail. I replaced the pressure gauge with [...] for about $15 delivered. This is a much better quality glycerin filled gauge that can safely be taken in the kayak and immersed in water. If you are planning on getting your pump wet then either get the version of this pump without the pressure gauge or plan on doing this upgrade. I also have a K100 pump which costs considerably more, about $70. This pump does not have a pressure gauge but it is much smaller and great for taking on the boat. It operates with two hands and no feet and the motion is much smoother than this pump. It does take a bit longer to inflate my boat however the process is less painful.

The attached psi gauge is good for not over inflation
Works great for my inflatable kayak as well as the floating rings. Easy to use inflating and deflating.

Pressure gauge does not work with intex Excursion Pro K2
Got this so I could use the gauge with my Intex Explorer K2. I was able to inflate the boat however the pressure gauge did not read due to type of valves used by the K2. The pump was fairly stiff and took a good bit of effort to pump. The tether for the adapter nozzles is a bit short and cluttered making it hard to attach. Over all I feel this is a good pump, however it simply did not work well with my Excursion K2.

Much larger than pictured.
I got this to do final inflation of a persnal pontoon boat, and to carry with me in the boat. I use a small, electric inflator for 90% of the inflating chores, but learned that a hand pump is necessary for inflating the pontoons to their final pressure, and to have on hand when on the water. For what I use this for, all that's needed is a small hand pump. I looked at the K-Pumps, but the cost put me off. The selling point for me was the air pressure gauge. I didn't want to carry two tools - a pump and a gauge - with me and it came down to a choice between this double-action Advanced Elements pump and the single-action Bravo 2HP, which also has an air pressure gauge. In the end, the Bravo pump is not offered by Amazon.com and I chose this. Looking at the photos and comparing them to other air pumps, the Advanced Elements looks to be the smallest and most compact air pump. It's not. It's very big and very tall and is definitely overkill for how I will use it. It works fine. I need a single down stroke to top off the pontoons at the water's edge and - although I don't have any way to test the accuracy of the gauge, it seems to be accurate enough to keep the pontoon pressure close enough to the 2.5lb maximum air pressure and the pontoons feel the way the manufacturer says they shoudl feel when properly inflated. On the downside, the air hose is too stiff and to easy to kink. The pump is all plastic and you'd think that with all the material costs saved by using plastic, a little could have gone into a slightly better hose. The fittings are a bit loose, as others have mentioned, but that was an easy fix. All inflatables need a pump for topping-off the air pressure, regardless of whether you transport the boat/kayak/raft partially inflated (like me) or do the inflation at water's edge. All inflatables need to have a pump on board for on-the-water adjustments or for emergencies. Topping off - making the small air pressure adjustments that bring the bladder to the ideal air pressure - is an absolute neccessity for safety and for the life of the air bladders. Why then is it impossible to find a compact, single-action hand pump at a reasonable cost? Topping-off takes a liter of air, two at most, but try to find a small-volume pump for less than a Benjamin and see how frustrating it can be. Overall, the pump is okay. Overpriced by a third when you consider the materials of construction. Way too big and way too small at the same time - with enough time, you could blow-up a 24-foot guide raft with it; but why bother when a 12v pump can do most of the work (and that 12v pump will cost less). I don't know how you could store it and carry it in a kayak. It's the tallest 16-inches that I've ever seen (maybe that's for just the barrel itself, without the height of the handle and foot braces). It's cheap enough and works well enough to keep until I can justify the cost of a mini K-Pump, but it is really only worth 3 stars because of materials of construction and overall quality. If you have space for a large pump I might recommend it. If you're like me and need a compact pump to carry on the water, you might want to pass on this. It is much larger than pictured. Amazon hasn't failed me yet and got it to me two days early during this holiday season. Amazon Prime is the best investment I've made since we l,oved to a tiny, isolated village.

Nice pump with Air Pressure gauge!
Bought this to go with my Advanced Elements Kayak since I needed a pump that had a pressure gauge on it. It pumps up pretty fast and gives good, clear reading of the air pressure so I don't overfill my kayak. I had used an electric air pump before but it did not have any way to tell what the air pressure was.
