Permatex 80037 Valve Grinding Compound, 3 oz., White

This Permatex product has been pretty helpful for my auto repair projects. it works well at smoothing out valve seats during engine rebuilds. i’ve used it in the garage when working on my car, and it’s been the right tool for the job. the small 3 oz. size is handy and lasts longer than i expected. 🙂 definitely a good addition to my toolkit.

Wanted to try this out on my motorcycle valves, and it has made a noticeable difference. i appreciate that it’s a small 3 oz. size, so it doesn't take up much space in the toolbox. the white color is easy to see during application, which is helpful. used it during a weekend project, and the results were satisfying. it’s not too gritty but just enough to do the job smoothly. glad i picked this up; it’s been a handy addition for maintaining my bike. 😊

Good product.

Worked perfectly on a hyundai accent aluminum head. Bought new valves and seated them just using this and a manual lapping tool.

Worked beautifully. No problem with use. Photos of the flywheel I used it with. This compound does not have a strong odor and is not goofy. Very easy to use and does exactly what it is intended to do. Great value for this tube. Does not take too much, cuts quickly

Works well for my hand valve grinding on some old 1600 beetle heads. Gets nice and fine after a minuit of grinding Put a bit on, spin and tap. Clean. Inspect, reapply and go till happy

Followed the instructions I found online (removing the wheel covers, swapping the gear situation and putting it back together to reverse the rotation of the rotary mower) Sharpens nicely though I do recommend you use gloves as it does say its a carcinogen and I understand this compound is a bunch of tiny shards of metal, please protect your fingers, you only have one set of hands. I was under the impression that this was a powder that needed to be mixed with water to use (as it suggested a mouth mask and eye protection) but its already a wet paste ready to be smeared on the blade so not much risk of inhaling unless you leave it to dry out. Idk about other uses but for sharpening a rotary blade push mower (non-gas) it works perfectly

Perfect consistency.I used it as a sharpening compound for my reel push mower with good results.

Works well. Lapped in new valves on a Pekins AD3.152 diesel in no time!
