Microload Pair 2 1/2 Lb. Magnetic Donut Weights

I've been using plateMate for 13 years and have bought the donut and hexagon design. These are excellent. The magnet is better protected than previous designs. It sticks like hell to the point that they may be very hard to remove from the dumbbell. Only con for me is the price. I also wish they would make them in 5 pounds as I use them to increase total weight of Nuo adjustable dumbbells.

These PlateMate Microload weights complement and complete my Snode AD80 adjustable dumbbells as if it was made from the same factory. It almost fits perfectly on the ends of the dumbbell. The rubber-coated and adequately magnetized 2.5 to 5 lb weight increments per dumbbell are perfect to fill the 10lb gap. This makes the dumbbells suitable for exercises that require finer increments of weight adjustment, such as arm curls. Adding the weights is as easy as placing them on the ends of the dumbbells, and the magnet will do the rest, and just yank them off to take them off. Snade makes magnetic add-on weights, but they protrude too much, potentially interfering with some exercises, and they're not rubber-coated, which over time will chip away the weight's coating. Sure, the PlateMates come with a premium price, but you would be hard-pressed to find a better quality product.

Very good and super solid quality. Can’t help to think that they are overprised though. Bought due to lack of alternatives available.

Work great, stick to hex dumbbells pretty well. Haven't been hit in the face with one falling off yet!
