Hamilton Beach 28 lb 22-Quart Roaster Oven with Self-Basting Lid (Stainless Steel)

Order was deliverd sooner than expected. The packaging was not that great the box was damaged but the product was fine. The whole unit is a lot lighter than the 30 year old roaster this one is replacing but seems be of a better quality of others in the box top stores. The two thing I miss on the new roaster is no light to tell me the roaster is heating and the arrow on the temperature select is really hard to see. So I got wife's finger nail polish and painted the arrow pink so it's easily visible. If this thing lasts half as long as my old roaster I'll be happy. So it works great for now. I just don't know for how long?

This was my first year making the turkey and overall it went great using this roaster. With a larger turkey it can take some finagling (will do better tying of the legs next time) to prevent parts from touching the side as it cooks and opens up. Worked great right on the counter top, definitely cooks turkey faster than expected so shave maybe 20-30% of the time you would typically cook. I was worried it wouldn't create a nice crispy skin but it does! Great purchase overall, worth the price.

Congratulations. the Hamilton Beach roaster shipped via Fed-Ex from Mississippi on a Friday and arrived by ground in California on Tuesday evening. I did not hear anything and the computer said it was still out for delivery. It arrived before the computer recorded it. I unboxed it and placed it on a wire shelf in the kitchen because the stainless steel looks attractive in the kitchen awaiting a bigger than average cooking project. Ordered aluminum liners because of "forever plastic."

Had a smaller version a long time ago. But these roasters are amazing when you're making holiday dinners. Frees up the oven for sides and desserts. Very straightforward operation. It's just a knob and it warms up quickly and is accurate (checked with an IR thermometer). Also great for large amounts of chili or other party foods. Make sure you wash everything with warm soapy water and rinse before first use. Anyone complaining of an odor on first few uses probably didn't wash everything. Cleanup is very easy. It's all metal and durable. The side walls are semi hollow so you don't want to bend them by pushing too hard but they are meant to be for heat distribution.

Purchased the 22qt roaster in April 2024. Have used it maybe10 times. It's now December 2025 and it is trash. The insert pan and lid are rusted and no longer usable. The temperature also ran much hotter than what the dial was set to. Quality at first seemed great but after a couple uses was not so great.Hamilton beach does not have the parts available to purchase and salvage it. I see why they're going for under $100 now. I paid $170.

I've had a roaster oven for 40 yrs. Have always loved using it, especially during the holidays. This year my 20 yr old roaster didn't turn on so it was time for a new one. After doing a little research, I saw that the Hamilton Beach Roasters were rated higher than some others. Was fast delivery and it came right when I really needed it. Being able to cook up a turkey in a faster time than when I cook it in the regular oven, it makes it easier to time my holiday dinners. Was packed very securely in the box. Nice easy features on this particular roaster. Just a simple temperature dial. I like that it has a removable pan so I can clean it more easily. I also like that it has a metal rack to place the food on. Makes it so much easier to grab the handles of the rack and lift the turkey, or other meats out and onto a cutting board. The only difference, with this roaster oven and the one I had for over 20 years, is that the lid has 2 very small vent holes on it. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad. Since they're so small and I usually cover my turkey with tin foil anyway, I don't think it'll make a difference with cooking times. I think roaster ovens should be an essential item in even kitchen. It's what my mom grew up using and she also used one for 60+ years when she cooked for us. It's something I will someday buy for my daughter.

I was looking for something to free up my oven when I cook turkey dinners. I needed something big as we usually have family over and cook the biggest turkey we can find. works great. makes the top crusty same as the oven. I would recommend this little oven if you need to use your oven for other dishes like your candied yams or your pies. I'm so glad I finally bought one. Even though I only use it a couple times a year, it's well worth the purchase. I know I can cook anything else in it besides turkey, like a ham or a roast if I needed to!

Great extra oven. Holds a 20 pound turkey no problem. Excellent heat control.

Bought this because we hosted Xmas dinner. The oven is always needed for other stuff so it was great to hace the turkey cooking in it's own Roaster Oven. Bigger than I thought it'd be and easily handled a 26lb bird and cooked it well. Easy to clean although watch out for sharp front edges of the removable insert. Overall, this roaster oven offers excellent performance and convenience for those looking to prepare large meals with ease. I probably won't need it again until the next big dinner we host but looking forward to find out what else it can cook.
