The processor also runs surprisingly cool, even under heavy load.
I recently got my hands on the Intel Core i9-12900K Desktop Processor, and I have to say, I am blown away by its performance. This processor is an absolute powerhouse, with 16 cores (8P+8E) and speeds of up to 5.2 GHz. It's also unlocked, which means I can push its limits even further if I want to. Installing the processor was easy enough, although I did have to make sure my motherboard was compatible with the LGA1700 socket and 600 series chipset. Once I had everything set up, I fired up my favorite games and applications to see how the processor would perform. The results were nothing short of impressive. The i9-12900K chewed through every task I threw at it with ease, from demanding video editing software to the latest AAA games. I was able to multitask without any lag or slowdowns, and my system felt incredibly responsive and snappy. The processor also runs surprisingly cool, even under heavy load. I did notice a slight increase in power consumption compared to my old processor, but it's a small price to pay for the sheer performance boost. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the Intel Core i9-12900K Desktop Processor. If you're a power user or a gamer who demands the best performance, this processor is definitely worth considering. It's not cheap, but in my opinion, it's worth every penny for the sheer power and speed it delivers.

Still A Beast In 2025!!!
After hours of reviews, and an unlimited budget I specifically chose this CPU in 2025 for its performance, and stability... instead of Intel 13th/14th gen CPUs that went all bonkers. I'm going to a country overseas where computer part's stores are scarce, and warranty repair isn't easily doable. I needed to build a high-end fast computer that's reliable before leaving the USA... and after much research, reading reviews, and watching gaming/productivity performance X vs Y videos... I picked this 12th gen i9 CPU which was their flagship top performing CPU not too far back. It has much lower temps than i7/i9 13th & 14th gen Intel CPUs, it can be air-cooled using a top quality air-cooler, it won't overheat & completely burn out & fail like many 13th & 14th gens did, nor will my new 12th gen Intel CPUs have questionable silicone quality issues... and if there're any performance inefficiencies with this 12th gen CPU vs a 14th gen or Ultra series, me & 90%+ of people out there would not even notice... including semi-pro gamers, programmers, and producers. Did I hear someone say, "What about AMD CPUs?" Don't even get me started with their "Cooler temp CPUs" that had compatability issues with some apps & games... and their CPUs actually didn't run that cool when software demanded more from them, and the necessary turbo boost kicked in... haha ;) And if truth be told which has been proven... Windows 11 favors Intel CPUs beginning with Intel's 12th gen CPUs with e-cores. I'm no fan of AMD, but I will admit that was a bit unfair...

Runs fast and cool
Nice chip for what it does and with a good AIO cooler never gets hot at all. It has a lot of power and rally cut down on video editing over my older four core chip even at 4.0 MHZ. It does support 6000 memory speed and works well for what I need. All cores idle in the mid 20's and i don't think it has ever been over 40.

Incredible Performance for Gaming and Multitasking!
The Intel Core i9-12900K is an absolute powerhouse! With 16 cores (8 performance and 8 efficiency), it delivers outstanding speed, handling even the most demanding games and applications effortlessly. The processor can reach up to 5.2 GHz, and the unlocked features give you plenty of room for overclocking to boost performance even further. I am particularly impressed with its integrated graphics, which provide smooth performance without the need for a dedicated GPU for lighter tasks or when gaming at lower resolutions. Whether I'm gaming, streaming, or multitasking with resource-heavy applications, this CPU handles it all with ease. The LGA1700 socket and 600 series chipset ensure compatibility with future tech upgrades. If you're looking for a high-performance processor that can handle anything you throw at it, the i9-12900K is a fantastic choice. Worth every penny!

I purchase this CPU 1 year ago and it cost me 74,000 JPY back then. the price didn't drop much since that time and the performance is satisfying so far. the new generation spec is higher so if you want to buy this CPU don't. instead, you can buy i7 Gen13 as it will have the same spec plus a better cache than the 12 Gen. it might be better to buy the K version in case you have issues with your GPU to troubleshoot.
