I purchased this light on Nov 2022 !! I plugged it and programmed it then, it has worked non stop since then. I chose to program the light cycles and its amazing the control you have on all parameters. Slowly dims from day to night. The programming can be a little overwhelming until you get the hold of it. You can also choose the auto feature for a straight forward installation. Worked great for me !! By the way, dropped several times inside my tank with no consequences!!

Update 3/20/24: I contacted Hygger directly for support on the sound the light made while plugged in but timed to the off setting. (High pitched whirr.) They were incredibly helpful. Did ask if I had an extra adapter, which I didn't. This was my first purchase from them. Proceeded to send out a replacement adapter immediately. (The adapter is the portion that plugs into the timer, timer is built into the light.) Though it took a few weeks to receive, it fixed the sound instantly. PLEASANTLY SURPRISED: Even though I unplugged the light completely while swapping out the adapter, the timer on the light maintained all of its settings minus the real time. So, I did not have to go through setting my times again. Which I was very excited about. Will update again if the sound comes back. Original: I really needed a quality light for my 20L. Purchased the 24-30inch after reading that its a recommended light in the hobby. Just had more plants than my small light could cover. The settings were a bit confusing (I didn't realize how to set it is also posted here on the listing, so thats a bonus for others to use). However... After a few days of running, certain percentages/frequencies of light I can HEAR an itty bitty buzzing sound. Which drives me absolutely batty. I have to completely walk away when I can. And, often just tolerate it, because this tank is in my bedroom. Though, I would assume not all the units do this, I did find one other review in Oct/23 that mentions this. For the price, and quality... I didn't expect this. Won't be returning it or anything, as I need the light at this point. More hoping that the company responds to my review and works with me to replace it? (Couldn't find the direct message option, Hygger, for that I apologize.) Overall, its a great light, mine just has a little something off about it.

Took me less than 5 mins to change the settings (delayed the start time and lowered the brightness across the entire day). Installed it since Feb 9, and bought it because I left on a week-long vacation and don't have a timer, so decided to upgrade the whole fixture. Pretty straightforward, seems sturdy doesn't generate too much heat (I've touched the plate in the middle of the day when it's running at 100% and it was warm to the touch, not hot) seems sturdy and obviously does the job because my plants have grown a LOT in this month, specially the floaters and the red ludwigia. So much so that I've taken shoots to put on my 10g and have scooped floaters twice too (a loner, mean gourami is the lone resident there and he loves eating floaters) In this same time period the algae started to grow, hence my wanting to lower the settings a bit. I'm very happy with this light, so much so that I'm considering getting one for the smaller 10g tank. I've used it both ways, on top of the hood, and without the hood (the extension rods work great, again, it seems solid and sturdy to me)

For the money it’s a good light. It’s a little complicated to setup and I wish it was a stronger and brighter light but it does the job. I had it on a 29 and it worked but ehh. Now it’s on a 20 long and works better. Both tanks are heavily planted

I own the 24 inch and 12 inch versions of this light, and I’ll be buying more in the future whenever I need aquarium lighting. The photos are a comparison of the original hood on my aquarium, with a T8 plant light bulb and the current 24 inch Hygger light. The photos attached are a before and after: just before I changed the old light for the new one, and after a month of the Hygger light. Within days of adding the new light, my aquarium plants begin growing very quickly and developing color I didn’t know they could have. Some of the stem plants developed golden new growth where it only been green before, the Amazon swords developed bronze veining, and one of my little mystery plants shot out new growth that has really lovely ruffled, bronze margins. Customer service is also incredible. The first light I ordered had a manufacturing flaw; they responded to my message almost immediately and had a replacement light shipped to me faster than Amazon shipped my original Prime order.

Best thing about this is that it will cycle from off to on and an interim moonlight without having to fuss with it everyday. Not too difficult to figure out the settings. ( I just handed it over to my teenage son, lol. Took 5 min) you can interrupt the cycle manually if you need to, and it will pick up the normal timed cycle the following day. Perfect. Brightness is fantastic for my planted aquarium.

Works good if I could figure it out,🤦 not crazy about the brackets at all sits really low on tank and the water creates moisture on it, which really concerns me😬

Initially we use this product to light a fish tank for about a month. Now it is a little complicated to set up , but the instructions do make it relatively simple. Just have to read through them a couple times. After a months we dismantled the tank and put the light and storage for about two months. Here's where the issues starts as you can see in the picture The light array is completely broken , only a few lights actually function. *The red seen in the pictures is supposed to be white light lol* Pretty disappointing for a product to only be able to function for a month before breaking, especially for the price. I have no idea if they warrenty there products or not but i guess we will see. In the meantime I DO NOT recommend.
