Great replacement cylinder! The size was spot-on, installation was straightforward, and it brought my chair right back to the height and stability it originally had. Smooth lift, solid feel, and no sinking issues at all. Exactly what I needed highly recommend if you’re repairing or upgrading an office chair.

It works. I am 6 ft 1in, and there is still room to raise the chair. No wobble. However, still early days. Only two months use so far.

My office chair turned out to be a disappointment after the backrest wouldn't stay up due to the plastic turn knob not staying tight no matter what I did. Then when my chair started to lose its lift on a regular basis I thought I would have to buy a new chair. I would sit down at my desk and realize I was sitting at the same height as a child does. Sad, because my previous chair lasted about 18 years. When I discovered this gas lift cylinder replacement I thought it would be worth a try to mitigate the expense of a new chair. I took the measurements from my chair in regards to how far it lifted from where it bottomed out to where it extended to and determined the 4.5" stroke height was the one I needed. I didn't know what "stroke height" was but I figured it out. Once I received it, I needed to remove the old cylinder, which was the HARDEST part of the task. I removed one end with a few hardy smacks with a hammer as illustrated on YouTube. Additionally, after unsuccessfully removing the other end with a pipe wrench as instructed, I had to disassemble the chair's mechanism to dislodge the end of it that was completely stuck in the chair pan. It took some creativity to get it done, but after about an hour of trial and error I got the old one out. At that point installing this new cylinder was SUPER easy. It fit exactly like it was supposed to. The chair is fixed! And I even fixed the other problem of the backrest not staying in position after seeing a fix on YouTube while looking at videos for installing a new chair cylinder. Now my chair is actually better than it was to begin with. The chair is stable and raises and lowers well. I look forward to an uplifting experience from this point forward (pun intended). I would recommend this fix to anyone who wants to save $150-$200+ on a new chair.

Easy to install, works very well.

Removing the old cylinder necessitates the use of a hammer, wrench, lubricant, and potentially a vice to secure the chair legs during extraction. Significant force is required for removal. No instructions were included in the cylinder packaging, making it necessary to consult a YouTube video for guidance. The device appears to be functioning properly following installation.

I needed to raise my office chair so that top of desktop monitor was 2 inches below eye level. I replaced the cylinder on my office chair with the Tall Chair Cylinder and it easily achieves this and could go even higher if needed. It seems very sturdy and has maintained the height setting. Replacing a cylinder is fairly easy if you have the proper tools. I would not attempt without a cylinder removal tool. Here is a picture of the tool.

Quality product, fit perfectly in my office chair. Just the lowest position is still comfortable at a standard desk height but gives you more flexibility with a raised desk.

It was my first time replacing a chair cylinder. I researched online to understand the size and rise for ordering the correct replacement cylinder. My order arrived quickly, well packaged, and as described. I used an 18" pipe wrench to remove the 25+ year old cylinder from the bottom of the chair and a small sledge to knock the cylinder out of the chair's wheel base. Installed the new cylinder in under 30 seconds. Total time to remove/replace cylinder: about 90 seconds. This quick DIY repair project saved my family from having to purchase a replacement office chair. I would definitely purchase replacement cylinder(s) for any of our 4 office chairs from Mastery Mart moving forward.

Super Gasdruckfeder, hält top. Für meine 1,90 Meter brauchte ich eine extra lange Feder, daher die 437mm Version. Mehr als ausreichend. Selbst für 2 Meter-Menschen sollte es mehr als genug Hub sein um korrekt und ergonomisch zu sitzen. Verwirrend in der Beschreibung hier ist die 450lbs Tragkraft. Dies entspricht ungefähr 204kg, nicht wie in der Beschreibung 450kg. Gleichzeitig wird aber auf Kolben Klasse 4 verwiesen, die ist eigentlich auf 1000lbs normiert was 450kg entspricht. Im Zweifelsfall würde ich mal von 200kg ausgehen. Die Feder reicht also locker für etwas stämmigere Menschen oder auch um eventuell eine Gasdruckfeder die etwas unterdimensioniert ist zu ersetzen. Falls man mehr als 200kg wiegen sollte würde ich vorher beim Hersteller nachfragen. Jedenfalls kann ich die Gasdruckfeder wärmstens empfehlen. Passt wunderbar in Standard Büro und Gamingstühle. HINWEIS: Ich würde jedem empfehlen unbedingt vorher zu testen ob man die alte Gasdruckfeder rausbekommt (bevor man bestellt). Es gibt zwar zig Tutorials und YouTube Videos die zeigen wie man das macht und wie "einfach" das ist. Bisschen WD40 Spray und dreimal Klopfen und schon ist die alte Feder draußen. Nene... Vor allem wenn man einen älteren, etwas "eingesessenen" Stuhl hat (mein Gaming Stuhl zum Beispiel) ist es alles andere als einfach. Habe über ne Stunde rumgeklopft und Gewalt angewendet Hammer, Rohrzange etc. Da war nix zu wollen. Letztlich hat mir ein Kollege in der Firma (erfahrener Schlosser) die Feder mit exzellentem Werkzeug und Geschick heraus bekommen. Ist wirklich alles andere als einfach, deshalb: Erst ausprobieren!
