Good NIC for software router/firewall.
Works with Proxmox and OPNsense (FreeBSD). Easy to install and configure. My built-in NIC started giving me problems and I needed an excuse to get a two port NIC so I could use a software router. This NIC had exactly what I needed and was at the price I could afford.

These work better than I expected - I have them teamed in a Linux distro and throughput is very good

Not recognized in Win 11 - Works when set to "Gen 3"
When I installed it initially, it wasn't recognized by Windows 11. After setting the BIOS configuration for the PCIe slot from "Auto" to "Gen3," it is now recognized and works fine.

Works great with PFSense
I built out a new PFSense box to replace the fanless microcomputer I had that died in a lightning strike. I had several TPLink 2.5 Gbit cards laying around, but to my chagrin, PFSense wouldn't recognize them. And looking online, it seemed that I wasn't the only one with this problem. I did find that it played nicely with Intel-based network cards such as this one. One quick order away, and my new firewall box is up and running.

PFSense Firewall Build Must Have
Nice piece of hardware for a firewall build using free BSD Unix. Works as advertised by seller. Is indeed compatible with Linux, free BSD Unix and Windows. I ordered 2x more for a backup build and to have as a spare, just in case.

Pfsense
I was hoping to creat a new Pfsense device, but for some reason the motherboard I was useing combined with its onboard network port was not able to comunicate with my network, I could ping out to 8.8.8.8 but my current devicses were not able to see my router IP hummmm... So I am not sure if it was Pfsense or the hardware I was using....
