Reliable and Affordable Storage Upgrade: Toshiba (Kioxia) 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD
The Toshiba (Kioxia) 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD is a fantastic upgrade option for various devices, offering great performance and affordability. Its compact 2230 size makes it a perfect fit for devices like Dell laptops or the Steam Deck, easily replacing or complementing existing storage. Users have reported seamless installation and significant performance improvements, whether upgrading from smaller SSDs or transitioning from SATA HDDs. For laptops, it’s worth checking for an available PCIe M.2 slot, as many devices include one without advertising it. Once installed, the SSD enhances system speed and battery life, breathing new life into older machines and eliminating the need for replacement. For Steam Deck users, this SSD is an excellent interim upgrade from the base 64GB eMMC, providing plenty of space at a reasonable price until larger capacities become more affordable. Installation is straightforward with resources readily available online, and the SSD performs reliably, meeting or exceeding expectations. With its competitive price and impressive performance, this SSD is a solid choice for anyone looking to enhance storage capacity without breaking the bank.

Used to revive broken laptop.
I have an old Lenovo Yoga 2 with a fried NVME slot (My fault). This left the device without any internal storage. Using an external SSD wasn't a good option either, especially with power-management turning off USB ports. My solution was to remove the WiFi/Bluetooth card, buy an adapter that converts the WiFi slot to one that accepts storage, and then mount this card. It worked an the laptop is back in action. I now use a low-profile WiFi adapter (TP Link) in a USB port. I know the low-bandwith WiFi slot is a bottleneck now, (Not the drive) but it's better than nothing. This drive runs great and the super-compact size made this fix possible.

Wanted a CHEAP upgrade to my SteamDeck and this works great.
I have (well had) a 64gb SteamDeck that I bought knowing I was going to upgrade it to a 1tb (or 2tb even) at some point. I thought I'd be fine with the 64gb and a microSD until I purchased a bigger NVME but after a few weeks I was mistaken. The prices on the +1tb NVMEs for the Deck are still kinda outrageous I opted for a stopgap and this was priced perfectly for my needs. Installing a new NVME on the Deck is documented well online. The process is slightly more difficult than changing an NVME on a motherboard but easier than changing a battery in a modern phone so do your research before you opt to do the upgrade yourself but rest assured if you want an SSD NVME that works and is priced affordably this is a great upgrade to the 64gb eMMC.

Great value to performance
This NVMe has good performance with the Monster adapter. It matches my 128GB Sony Tough CF Express type B card for speed and performance but is a little slower than my Lexar 128GB on larger transfers. Was fairly easy to setup and install, and seems very reliable, although I haven't put a ton of time on it. For about $80 you can have a fast card that has a good capacity and saves you hundreds of dollars. Definitely recommended.

Great for Steam Deck
Purchased this to upgrade my Steam Deck's internal storage from 64gb to 256gb. Installed without any issues what so ever. Works great and at a price of a little over $30. Was a much more affordable alternative than buying the 256gb model of the Steam Deck. I can't complain!
